Seriously, if that spike can't pierce light armour then why can a crude looking sword? I'm not a fencer but espeicially in pve Fencer is next to useless because of the near-complete inability to deal good damage.

It would make perfect sense to make the gaffi AP1 actually. Non unarmed damage bonus like TK get and we'd still have to compete with high kinetic resists from armor in PvP but it would be a better weapon than our vibro blades.

Heck I'd be willing to due a dumb quest to get a component for each gaffi stick that could be made AP1. Just gimmie something that can match a republic blaster or DE-10 because right now we got nothing. Cant stick acklay bones in VB's and against stun armor an acklay baton is still crapastic.

Given that the 2h- curved sword is Medium AP, why is the 1h- curved sword not light AP?

Seems consistent to me.

I liken the gaffi to a spiked club, doing more damage through brute impact than sharpness.

Personally, I wouldn't want to get hit by a gaffi.

However, as a fencer, I would like a cool sword.

i'd rather be hit by a gaddi than a Ryyk, it's based of teh scimitar design so it has a verly long slash attack as opposed to a point attack of the gaddi with is like hitting someone with a board wit ha nail it it, yeah it'll hurt but it doesn't match a bloody red line spanning your entire torso from one slash.

Rather than making the gaffi AP1, I would rather see the ryck (spelling) or curved sword, or sword turned into a virbosword and give that AP1 or even 2. Perhaps increase the damage a bit, decrease the speed a bit and make it a Novice fencer weapon. Add a similar weapon to swordsman that is a bit more damaging but slower.

We have vibroknucklers, blades, axes, lances, why not a Vibrosword?
