Thread: Why scatter hit?

just a fast post before i go to bed, did some pvp'ing today at 4433 fencer with my new 203-215 dmg baton. I noticed one thing, scatter hit 2 BLOWS, i was incaping / killing people about 5x faster with body hit3's. maybe you need master brawler to help this out but i noticed that right off i dizzy posture change them, spam body hit3. they get up and i warcry 2 them (for 20 seconds) then keep spamming body hit. MOST are usually VERY close to dead now or they are some uber pvp'ers, so i intimidate2 them and dizzy lunge2, keep spamming and down they go. all fencers i have talked to say that scatetr hit 2 is the best in pvp because it hits mind but i find i RARELY hit mind. am i just talking to the wrong people and you all already know this or am i missing something?
(ps the warcry is to make sure they dont heal themselves)

o ya i forgot to mention. most of my trials to test this all out (actual duel with friends not overt battles) were against tkm's.... and yeah... fencers kick tk-a-ss

Did some tests on this as a Master Fencer and find no use for Scatter Hit. One Hand Hit 3 far out damaged the 3 pools much faster. Tried killing someone with healing skill and Health/Body shots will take forever to kill them. You have a much better chance of killing them with the One hand Hit 3 because it can hit the mind pool, even if they heal Health/Action, they will be helping you kill their Mind


Also did some tests trying to Dizzy and Posture change, but it took way too long. If you do manage to get them in a Knockdown loop, you have them for sure though.


One Hand Hit 3 seems the way to go to dish out damage in PvP. Just don't forget Center & Intimidation in the excitement

Scatter hit will pwn a shield generator because it hits 3 stats so it takes them down 3x as fast. If youre doing like 0 dmg in pvp wiht a good stun baton...prolly cause of synth steak and psg. Ok, so scatter hit the psg, itll cut through it like butta! I hear that 1h hit 3 does more mind dmg than scatter lol, because back in the day, scatter hit was basically a mind it, it did like a chunk to health and mind i think, so everyone used it. That was before psgs and stun armor though, when fencers ruled.

Correct Doratos, scatterhit will damage someone's psg 3 x faster. Scatterhit is not useless by a long shot. It was and still is my main attack even after it was fixed so it doesn't bypass melee toughness.


It's the only fencer move that regularly targets the mind. Spreading damage over all 3 pools is better than just targetting health IMO.

scatter hit > PSG


use 1handhit3 on ranged professions like riflemen/cm or what ever else they might be, try to use that 203-215 on melee professions only, bust out a NASTY high dmg baton on ranged and you will eat them up in a matter of seconds, but yes warcry breaks as soon as you touch them again, 20secs, 30 secs, 1000000 secs, it will still break after you hit them.

wow very nice post, i didnt know that warcry breaks once u get attacked or attack. teh PSG breakign thing is also very cool, i never thought of just focusing on busting up the PSG with scatter hitto make it useless. lots of great info here, thanks

question w/ scatterhit2... a 250-300 damage bat.. and brandnew 2000 condition psg... how long to wear it down? to 0?


w/ AP0 will a stun bat even hurt a PSG? ( by hurt i mean significant enough to notice)

it kills it by using lots of low damage hits rather that a couple of big ones. also scatterhit counts as 3 hits, so it burns away synsteak very quickily to
