Thread: Max Melee Defense

I have been hearing different things about 125 being the cap for melee defense. Some are saying that you can go over that and some are saying that you can't. I was just wondering if anyone knows for sure what the case is. I notice that it is possible to see melee defense stat over 125, but does the extra really have any effect?

no matter what your stats say +125 is the hard cap but SL bonus and food/SE's can stack another +25 I belive.

So is the Force Sensitive Melee D line usesless with fencer ???? Or does it stack ... which is right??


+125 MD from Fencer Profession ( or Fencer + something to bring it to +125 )

+25 More for Armor and or CLothing attachments

+25 More from MD Food enhancement

+20 from the Force Sensitive Line


Does this mean that +195 is the max Melee D someone can have if they have all the above ( +390 if they are using centered ) ???

The Force Sensitive Melee and Ranged Defence adds directly to what you have. So I am suspecting thatit cannot cause what you have now to go over the 125 with those +20s. Squad Leader, Clothing/Armor Attachments, and Food can add +25 each for a total of +200

Just a heads up, please read this post by MineRunner about defense caps.


SEA's and bio stat clothing do not add to your mods above the 125 caps. The only way to go above 125 is Squad Leader bonuses and food/drug bonuses. This is all new to me also as it was only posted yesterday, but definitely useful to know.

FYI.... Master Squad Leader gives a bonus of +30 melee defense.

SEA's and Bio Clothing Do not make any difference above 125... even though they "say" they are.

Thank you very very much for all the great information !!!!! Now I know how far up fencer I have to go so I can have the max MD/RD for when I am Jedi


Or maybe I should go up Pistoller as I will probably have to go smuggler and get feigndeath
