Thread: Soloing Missions Alone
I hope you like my title...it's a joke, so you know (probably not as funny as if I had said nothing about it). Seriously though, I just became Novice Fencer 3 days ago. I'm about to have enough XP points to level up in one of the three categories for One Hand XP. First off, I don't know which one to go with. I was with a friend of mine (a TK master) and he was barely getting hit and when he did, it didn't take that much off him. He told me he was not wearing any armor, so I figured he was just a bad **edit** and that maybe when I become Master Fencer, I will too. Unfortunately, I found out that he was using Knockdown and that's why he was barely getting hit. Now that I know we don't have knockdown, I've been reading up on what we DO have and how to use it so I can solo alone (see...same joke). I want to be able to go to Dantooine and fight 1 on 1 against any animal. Right now, I can fight 1 on 1 with just about nothing from that planet. The only way I survive is if I *cheat* by having my TK friend come with me and be the tank. Of course, he's not tanking because of the knockdown. And he's able to whoop tail while I get a few nice hits in for about 1.5k XP points. As much as I love to get something for nothing, I want to be able to actually earn my XP points by soloing. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how a Fencer can fight a hard creature aloneand survive? I'm also a Novice Doctor, but I don't want to rely on healing myself, because my mind HAM takes a big beating during the 3 or 4 heals.
Thanks!
The problem with having animals tank is their range. Some big animals that can take a beating are too far away from the enemy for me to stay behind. My range to attack is only like 3 or 4 m. Once I'm further away, I don't even swing. If I could find an animal that HAS to be 1m to the target, I would buy it in a heartbeat!
Any other options to fight tough animals solo as a fencer?
As a fencer i stopped doing creatures for now, i took the rebel status and went for the stormtroopers and all other imperials. The lunge+dizzy combo works great on npc's. Creatures are unaffected by it. Once they are on the ground do 3-4 melee1hhit2, you will hit for 1300-3000 dmg a hit, The stormtroopers give around 3600xp . When he gets up repeat the lunge+dizzy to knock him down and start doing the melee1hhit2.
I use the vibroblade to bypass their armour (vibro has ap1 (armour piercing)) and the HAM costs are so low that ya can almost keep on spamming specials, my vibroblade has 17/27/17 ham costs, 42-146dmg, 2.6 speed, range 2/2/2 i think
You can also find some nice loots on them, sometimes tho.....
Hope this helps a bit on getting xp as a fencer
Ooh before i forget..the lunge has a pretty long range 10-12m i think, use that advantage to knock him on his knees while running up to him when he's aggro, that prevents them from running away

yeah i thought ur post was funny, not the solo part being a joke ( yes you can solo as a novice fencer )
but you have got to be kidding me that you want to solo anything on Dantoine, Lok, Endor, Yavin 3 days into Fencer. Yup ur very right you cannot solo ANYTHING on dantoine at ur level. Hunt NPC's though on Dantoine, if ur IMPor Rebel do missions for those against NPC's.
I'd need a bit more information to tell you what your problem is, but here are some suggestions. If you want to be able to spam specials all day long, look into a lower HAM cost weapon, like a Vibro Blade. Ryyks are nice and all, but the special costs can and *will* kill you.
Aside from that, you said you werea Doctor, correct? In that case, why haven't you stat migrated over to Focus and Willpower? That'll decrease the cost of doing a special or healing yourself and increase your regen rate. In a normal fight, I normally have to Lunge/Dizzy 4-5 times in a fight to keep them off their feet. What you do is every couple attacks, toss in a lunge/dizzy to keep them on the ground. If they start getting up, Lunge, then continue your normall attack string.
Hope that helps.
And when in doubt bleed...bleed...bleed (Health hit) and try to put some distance between you and the aggro.
