I have read the posts, and on this forum it is sounding like fencer blows, I mean, there slower then TKA, the damage is not as good as 2h, they dont have very good weapons, 2h weapons can be just as good, fencers have no insane special abilities, we dont even have knockdown correct me if I am wrong. Could we get some positive changes done, that would be pretty bomb.

well, I think the stats should be increased and there should be more abilities learned, I mean its pretty bomb, now and they really need new weapons, like by letting us wield lightsabers

Fencing is EXTROADINARY

.... so are other Professions ....YOU CHOOSE THE ONE YOU LIKE

....please dont try and judge others who are currently enjoying their skills and how they choose to play the game

I'm liking it so far... I was hunting Storm Troopers solo last night. Was sometimes doing 2-3k health damage per hit. The best thing about Fencer is the special moves.

a fencer is like being a jedi without the force. I think its the closest you can be actually. Wielding lightsabers would be cool and if you follow the story line in the movies should be possible. Anyone in the movie can ignight a LS just not recharge them. It takes the force to recharge the thing I think.

Just to state the obvious we have a deadly knockdown move.

uh, heh... also to state the obvious.....

A lightsabre can be ignited by anyone, that is unless it has a special activation plate whereas then only the true owner can ignite it(security measure). A lightsabre does NOT require the force to "recharge" it, it works off of a force crystal which unless destroyed or damaged never runs out of power.

A lighsabre requires extreme amounts of skill and control (thats why only jedi use them) to prevent from inflicting injury to self, ie: chopping off body parts, fatally wounding yourself, etc... you get the picture.

Realistically a non-force sensitive user would have at least a -10 usage pentalty while using a lightsabre, on top of being drained physically trying to control it.

Simply put, a lightsaber blade has no mass, so it's quite easy to lose control of it. That's what makes handling it so difficult.

Even more reason it seems, to me anyway, that it should be a one-handed weapon. Fencing is a stylized from of dueling done with *lighter* weapons and I'd say no mass is pretty light!

Oh, it can be. It just depends on the user.

Most Jedi, for example, use a two-handed grip because it allows for more control. Otherwise, it'd be quite dangerous to try and attempt using it with one hand. Some Jedi, such as Dooku or Vader, employ a one-handed fencing technique. While difficult, it is what sets them apart from the other Jedi and makes them the best duelists of them all.

While I don't agree that fencers should get access to lightsabers, I do believe that we should be a LOT faster than what we are. In reality, a fencer is very quick and adroit with his blade. He uses his superior dexterity to defeat an opponent, rather than using his strength. Any fencer who can get inside the outer ring of a swordsman is deadly and can easily poke through the large holes in his defenses: it should be so in this game.

I can accept lower damage. It's quite realistic. The speed, though, needs to be worked upon. Fencing is truly a difficult art to master in real life, and there's no reason it should be slower than a TKA.

You are correct that a lightsaber isn't recharged with the force but it uses a power cell just like a blaster and needs to be recharged. Obi-Wan in EpI gets his wet when it is on and shorts it, not allowing him to use it until he repairs and fixes it.
