Thread: Question about defensive mods...
Everone seems to assume that the dodge, and other defensive mods from different professions stack, because the #s stack in the character sheet. Has anyone actually tested this? There is a post in the pistoleer forums where a pistoleer tested dodge. He only dodged once with no pistol equipped, but dodged a huge amount with a pistol equipped. This MAY mean that the defensive mods only work with the weapon they were granted for equipped. If so, this would completely invalidate all the fencer dabbler templates who use fencer for the dodge. I ask because ideally i would like to master both fencer ans swordsman, and use each weapon as needed, but have the defensive mods from both, at all times. Is this actually possible? Has anyone been able to test this conclusively?
thanks!
Mods like Dodge, counter attack, and block require the weapon that they are suited for. If your a fencer/pistoleer. You will dodge alot more if you have a pistol or a 1h melee weapon. If you are a fencer/carbineer you will either Dodge alot, OR counter attack alot, depending on what weapon you have equiped (1h melee = dodge, carbine = counter attack).
These special defenses do stack, but they are weapon specific. Generic defenses are another story. They work at all times, and stack across the board with other professions. Examples are melee defense, ranged defense, defense vs stun, defense vs blind, etc...
Most folks don't dabble multiple professions and expect things like dodge and block to stack. They do this more for things like melee/ranged defense, and primarily defense vs knockdown.
