Thread: How long is dizzy/lunge knockdown supposed to last?

Ok, so I head out to my house, and find that a camp of maulers has moved in, completely ruining the property values. Well, I just couldn't have that, so I decided to take them out. And everyone else in town was apparently busy with other things, so I had to take them alone.

After making a few passes, taking out apprentices and acolytes, it looked like they'd keep spawning until the head guy was taken out. So I thinned down the herd, and drew out the Mauler Master. Fortunately, I had just gotten my stun baton certification, so his armor didn't worry me. I got in a lucky skull stab, making him dizzy, then forced him down with lunge1. By this point, a couple more acolytes had spawned, so I moved my attack to them. After finishing them off, the master was still on his back. Checking the combat log later, the dizzy wore off after 30 seconds, but I spent the next minute pounding on him, and he never got back up. Once he died, the camp unspawned a little afterward.

So is forcing a posture change while your target is dizzy supposed to work like that, or did I inadvertantly exploit a bug? Or is a Novice Fencer with a stun baton, suit of Ubese, some Angerian Fishak (mind buff drink), Sunburnand Thakitilo (health/str/con food buff) supposed to be able to solo a mauler camp?

Dizzy and Knockdown/Falldown have been made to have a 5 second minimum duration, Dizzy has a 30 second maximum duration, but there is no maximum on Knockdown/Falldown. If you have Combat Equalibrium you gain chances to overcome these two conditions during the first 5 seconds. If you do not, then after this time you get a chanceonce per second to see if you recover. If you have Combat Equalibrium your chance to stand is improved. If your opponent is unfortunate, they can remain in that status for some time. If they have a high Combat Equalibrium and are lucky, they could fully recover in the first second.

I will note that some opponents seem .... er.... habitually unlucky.

With my TK on Starsider I've dizzyed/KDed stormys and they rarely if ever get back up again. Once I got two on their backs but their buddys managed to slay me. I came back and those two were still on their backs! (though the camp did reset...and I had two additional Imps to deal with...oh well more xp for me...)

Hi,

For me, stormtroopers rarely get up once they are down. KD duration is long enough to let me spam 1Hhit3 at least 2-4 times. Which is long enough to get HAM down to 50% to 100%. Iput in intimidate and other change of state stuff just in case. So when they do get up, only place they are going is DOWN.

Probably your mobs arelower than mediumlevel. I have seen some mob that never gets up. I have seen Nym's bodyguard get KDed and stay down for like a 1-2 min. (at which time he went to permanent sleep status )

I am perfectly fine with it. I remember the bad period in time when mobs simply get up before they hit the ground. ... I stayed away from any human mobs during that time.

Note that some mob do get up so I would make sure you spam high damage specials before they get back up again.
