I'm new to the SWG forums. In my experience, roughly 60% of all gaming forums is whining, 35% is elitist veteran putdowns and the remaining 5% is intelligent discussion between people who actually want to see their gaming experience improved and are willing to sacrifice their time to help the developers do so. For me, such a pitiful ratio means that forums are hardly worth my time. But this time, things are different. Well, at least the people on this board are.

You all seem to be ardently devoted to the improvement and balancing of your chosen profession, but unlike most who feel dissatisfaction with their character's abilities, you are channelling your zeal in a constructive, intelligent manner. You know what needs to be done and you have developed strong arguments for your case, which is to be lauded and respected, but most of all, it should serve as an example to all other players.

I'm not going to pretend to believe that you alone will persuade the more immatureand pessimisticsubscribersto emulate your methods, but I am hoping against hope that those in the 'middle ground' of these various issues will take your model of constructive criticism and cooperation to heart and will join your worthy crusade toward a better gameplay experience for all.

thank you rosar. those words mean very much to myself, and i'm sure the people you speak of. we are very devoted, we do try to make these boards a useful tool; however laudable our actions may be, we cannot claim perfection.

i whine. i get irrational. i get elitist. it's not something i do often, and it's not something i welcome. but it happens. in the face of such praise, i feel obligated to offer perhaps a bit of self-deprecating honesty. i have moments where i am nothing like you describe, and i'm sure the majority of people are the same. you do offer quite the motivation to remain constructive, however. thank you for that.

here's the flip side to the flip side. you've probably noticed event he best of us getting testy, and yet you still manage to see the true intent of our words. i must regretfully reciprocate to you that you may have more to do with the well-intentioned posts on this board than you might think. i look forward to your future posts.

There used to be more whining... , but now its mostly people who dont like our stick, and dont want to see us nerfed

I've seen a lot more showing off than intelligent constructive posts lately, hehe. I have no problem with that.

Oh.... this leaves 3% to be 'other'. I guess this very post falls under other. I'm not beinc constructive, showing off, being elitist, or whining. I guess I'm just being miscelanious.

i can kill anything in the game even though we're the weakest and most hated class by the devs, which is why we're better than everyone else.

unless, the "now this thread has it all." post was attempted to do so. In such a case, then you are one crafty little bugger and deserve kudos up the wazoo. Now how is that for dirrrty? lol

On a side note, Erebr, please do not make mention of those of us who don't want to be nerfed in such a synnical manner again, be it intended or very easily misunderstoodas an implication. No one likes the nerf bat, and those who do seriously brag a lot are leaving out valid information as to how they were able to do such difficult tasks. Unwarranted nerfs I believe are the second worst kind, next perhaps to random nerfs.

Since this is getting further and further off topic, here is a good example of a random nerf, toprove their supremacy:

"Fencers now no longer have theability to fight while standing, they must remain either prone or kneeling during combat." Wha???!?!!?!

kudos in my wazoo are precisely why i always smile so secretly.

as for nerfing... the Devs don't exactly come here, see us breagging, then go off and decide to change things around. if they receive consistent reports of unbalanced gameplay, that's when they'll start thinking "hmm, did we tweak a few numbers too high?"

coming here and discussing how you soloed this and that isn't as big a threat as other classes saying "i fought a fencer, and they beat me 12 times in a row!" keep in mind that the Devs are like you and me. would you go off and make a class weak just because a few people were doing amazing stuff (with buffs i might add)? or would you test it out and make sure it really was unbalanced before making any changes? we can give them at least a little credit, right?

not that i'm saying remaining silent would hurt. but we've been kinda weak for a while, it's nice to hear these stories instead of what used to be pretty much questions on how to overcome our lack of dodge, etc. you've been around awhile, i think you know what i mean.

you must be forgetting that dirrrrty is my middle name. but with four r's, not three. although i did avoid all the jokes about fencers fighting on their knees....
