Thread: So thats the VibroBlade problem (Raph, read this please)
Well, I was playing around today trying to figure out why the VibroBlade does less damage than the other weapons even though it has AP1. What I found out is pretty sad. The entire reason, is because, for whatever reason, the VibroBlade doesn't get the 1.68 hit modifier as the other weapons do (taken from the special attacks FAQ of course, great work on that
). I tested this out multiple times, taking the damage the combat chat said and comparing it with the number of damage actually done on screen above the enemy. The damage from the window is multiplied ONLY by 1.25 from the AP, and no more after that. VibroBlade is still better when attacking something with armor (unless it has stun vulnerablity, use the Stun Baton), because its better to keep original damage than to lose half of it, even if it is multiplied by 1.68, but anything unarmored is better off to be kept with other 1H weapons. Hopefully this will help some people out, I know I have always assumed VibroBlade was better because of AP. Raph, feel free to add this info to your FAQ or something, and of course add it in to your bug reports for the profession. Not only do we get only 1 AP weapon, but it doesn't even right, bah.
As for others, keep this bumped up into Raph sees it. Unless of course this is already known, then feel free to flame the daylights out of me
.
First off.. I think you mean x1.86.. not x1.68. But I knew what you meant. ![]()
Second, yes I am aware of the phenomenon you describe, but it goes much deeper than this actually. This is something I'm currently contesting with the Devs. Should know something on this pretty soon, as if what I think is happening it would be a pretty big issue. ![]()
I'm always thankful to have tidbits like this brought to my attention though, as you never know what I might have missed. Never fear about having to "bump" anything though. Every time I come back to this forum I read every single new thread and post, not just the ones on the first page. ![]()
This isn't really outdated. The issue just came up last week. I'm trying to get some hard info on it before I got anyone alarmed.
Never be reluctant or regretful about posting issues like this. I need to hear them.
