Thread: Dodge does not really dodge?

I have a question that might haunt many fencers. I dueled a commando andhe was using his flame thrower, but he did not hit me once, and I had burn on me. I incaped him just before I was killed by his uber burn. I looked at the combat queue and it told me that I evaded every single attack he did on me, yet the burn sticked to me...and thats how I was killed. Is this a bug? Or what? Any answer or comments are welcome.

Because he used a flame cone, hits everything in front of him, dodge or no dodge.

such is the nature of AoE attacks

I've set stuff on fire with flamethrower without doing any normal flame damage. Once, I got a hit on a mob but it counterattacked so no damage was applied. Regardless, the flame DOT stuck. The mob died and I got 0 xp.

So, it seems that dots/bleeds not only ignore armor and resists, but they also ignore any dodge/blocks/counterattacks.

Yeah, I was a commando and I would dot things with 100% resist to heat and they still took huge damage to the dot, not right, should be fixed.

Currently for some reason, even if you successfully Dodge/Counterattack/Block, you will still beaffected by any DoT(Damage over Time, i.e. Bleeds and Fire) effects.

Examples:

1. Commando uses Flame Single on you, but misses. You take no damage, and no effect is applied.

2. Commando uses Flame Single on you, but you block/counterattack/evade it. You take no initial damage, however you still are set on fire. Why? I don't know... It's my opinion that it's bugged.

3. Commando uses Flame Single on you and hits. You take any initial damage the attack has, as well as you are set on fire.

If it's a bleed attack or an attack that has no immediate damage, then any block/counterattack/dodge is exactly the same as being hit.
