Thread: A little Question about the ranged 'delay' shot...

Pistoleers (I think? Could be ranged weapons as well) have a 10 secdelay shot that's the equivalent (it seems) to our Warcry. I've seen tons and tons of skill attachments for Warcry and Intimidate resists- but I have yet to see one which resists the ranged delay.

Has anyone come across anything like this? Sure would *like* to ::hint hint hint::

Also, when a tape reads "One handed Weapon Evasion" - does that mean it increases your chances of evasion as a one-handed weapon weilder? OR it increases your chances of evading someone WITH a one handed weapon?

Thanks,

It's a bonus to a sleeper skill. All Fencer's have One-handed Weapon Evasion (it's like One-handed Weapon Toughness in that it only works with a One-handed Weapon equipped) but it's currently set to zero. I don't know why... I can't believe I haven't thought to ask before now... it just doesn't come up so I didn't think about it. I'll check it out today.

I have a cloak I wrestled off a Dark Jedi Master (back before I was Correspondent or I would have asked when I got it) that's gives +25 One-handed Weapon Evasion. Unfortunately, the resulting One-handed Evasion 25 (total) is so low it is not often activiated. In fact, I have only seen it go off about 3 times that I saw. Chat spam actually said "evaded" when it went off. I think this was a skill they though about giving Fencers at one time and forgot about. With the way Dodge is currently working, I'm not keen on bringing it up and messing up the good thing we have going. I'm going to hold onto it as an "Ace up my sleeve" should we one day feel the nerf slick.

Certainly sounds reasonable Raph, ty!

Still wondering about that ranged delay move.... and if anyone has seen any (resist) mods against it...

Smugglers get a 10 sec delay attack called Panic Shot. Not sure if Pistoleers get a ranged delay and I'm sure Marksman don't get one. There is no direct resist to Panic shot that I'm aware of so your best bet would be some sort of general defense vs. ranged attacks.

Warning shot is a delay. Versus NPCs it makes them run away, but obviously you cant force PCs to run away so it delays you. There are mods that increase warcry skill, but not mods that resist it. Ive never seen any skilltapes with + warning shot because I dont think it its a skill, its simply a shot, whereas warcry has a skill mod that makes it effect the NPC more often. Therefore there can not be a skill tape with resistance toward warning shot because its a chance shot, not a skill effected shot. This is how i think it works, im fairly sure, but not certain, so dont hate me if im wrong

Oh, forgot to say - incase you dont know, both threatening shot and warning shot come with the "Ranged Abilities" (fourth tier on the marksman skill tree)

I'm pretty sure I've seen some "Defense against Warcry" armor attachments....

Could be mistaken tho....

Well, I fought a pistoleer.. and he delayed me 10 sec- and it wasn't warcry.

So whatever it was-- it was working fine.

Master Pistoleer here, readingup on Fencer because I'm considering taking up the profession at some point. Maybe I can clear up some info about Pistoleer.

Pistoleers get no delay attack. Disarmingshot2 (from master) used to be a ranged AOE attack (until about 2 months ago). Most of the specials do nothing special, ironically. This is everything unique:

Pistolmeleedefense1: melee (within 7m) knockdown attack

Bodyshot3: Targeted health damage

Fanshot: AOE attack on random HAM pools

Healthshot2: Health bleed attack

Literally every other special attack just does random HAM damage, Stopping Shot being the most powerful of them.

Smugglers have the delay attack you're talking about: Panic Shot.
