Why is it thatthe Teras Kasi boards all think that they should own every other melee profession? I mean they have 2 threads going on why they are losing now to a Fencer and why this is a problem. They make it sound like it should not be happening at all.

Thats simple... because the decks been stacks so strongly in their favor for so long a few of the bandwagon TKA's are throwing a fit because its a much more lvl playing field now. If you read through the post, you will quickly see the difference in the real TKA's and the "l33t"... the real ones answer along the lines of "God forbid a TKM lose...."

They do it because they picked up the profession to beat all over melee professions.

Im a TKM and I have said it numerous times, To many people underestimate a Fencer.. I have no problem losing to you guys I think a well played fencer is the ultimate challenge for a TK to beat (nxt to a jedi tho hehe) The problem is so many TK's only live by that stupid KD+Dizzy move and dont relize odds are you arenot putting a Fencer down so dont bother trying. They fail to use other tactics but oh well thats there loss not yours and im glad fencers are kicking some TK butt.

Good post Vika. Totally agree from the Fencer side. Some people just need to learn there is more to the game then knockdown and dizzy.

master fencer CoBd with Mpistols is a TKs worst nightmare, i've never lost to any proffession while fighting as fencer CoBd, TK has some fancy stuff, but nothin to defend itself with. (which makes sense considering they are ....unarmed) TK are overpowered, but defenseless. I'm glad that there are so few fencers.. that way we remaining know the true glory being.... Duelists.

My favorite are the TK threads complaining that they can't reliably take down Jedi because that's what TK is about!

You do realise that if Fencing does get one or two more fixes those TKA's will be coming over to this forum as they'll be askin for hints on gaining One-Handed.

Any ideas how a TKM can master Fencer in a day???? Haha just kidding

I am a TKM and a little blue holocron told me to master Fencer. Honestly I was considering doing this anyway since it makes melee so much more interesting when you have great defenses.

Back on topic, it is true that many TKMs tend to inflate the importance of the Teras Kasi in SWG. However, these are rarely the bandwagoners. Usually these are people who have decided to be TKA because they liked their roles in the books. The bandwagoners just choose it because they think its the flavor of the month and it will make them more uber. They don't want to see another melee profession come along and take away that "most uber melee" spot since it means they will have to grind another profession to stay uber.

I am elated to see that other melee professions are starting to get some strength. I never took up TKA to be better at melee than say a pikeman or a fencer, I took it up because it complemented what was my current profession (Commando). Since I had to get unarmed 4, and since TKA had some nice melee defense, i figured this was a good choice that saved skill points.

I think the majority of TKAs just like being TKA, its fun! They don't have a desire to be better than the rest.

I'm a fencer, not a TKA, so don't take this the wrong way. TKA was a profession to protect Jedi, right (or hunt jedi, i read it somewhere a long time ago...)? Seems that they should have the ability to own just about anyone.
