Thread: Master Pistoleer Lvling Fencer, & im NOT dodging unless i have a Pistol equipped
well, has anyone got any hard evidince that thesedefenses do truly stack?
i think most people that are stating these mods stack are probably already high lvl pistol/one hand weapon users & are just usingeither pistol dodge or one handed dodge, but sincethe skill is so effective people are gettingmistaken thinking that the effects are stacked
id imagine that when i have the one handed weapon equipped id see some dodging sseing as i have 105 from pistol, but im only seeing about 1 in 25-30 hits dodged with a one hand weapon equipped, but when i switch to my pistol mid combat to stick the mob W a bleed, i dodge about 1 in 5-10 shots & my dodge rate increases noticably with the pistol equipped
im currently only@ Nov fencer & i "just" started noticing more dodges while using a one handed weapon since training in the nov skill box.....
Well my experience is quite the opposite..
Iam 0 0 0 1 in pistoller. I got exactly 10 dodge from the novice pistoller box. I am killing thug to get to novice fencer (currently at the third boxin the brawlertree )and i get *sometime* a dodge with a curved sword equiped.
Logic dictate that defensive skill mod arent tied up with the weapon type of the skill tree where you got it ![]()

Exactly, defense's ARE weapon specific. I was a Master Pistoleer switching to Fencer and I never Dodged without a pistol equiped when I started out. The Pistoleer Corespondent has a good post on this in that forum.
You will have a hard time convincing people that they are weapon specific but they are.

Then explain me how can i dodge with a curved sword with pistoller's dodge skill if defences are weapon specifics??? I dont even have novice fencer yet!!
Really not wanting to start an argument, i am still a newb at melee combat. Its just that i cant see how i can dodge if what you are saying is true.
Sorry to reply to my own post, but here is a screen shot to prove i am not crazy ![]()

You can see the combat spam about me dodging a blow and after swiging at my target(just to prove i didnt had a pistol equiped). You can also see that i have only 10 skill point in dodge and that it come from the novice pistoller box.

but i think everyone has an inherent chance to dodge with any weapon equipped, though it's very small. i hate to say it, but the evidence is inconclusive.
Cant be 100% positive, but i dont recall ever dodging before i trained novice pistoller. and it was only a few days ago.
But if its true that anyone have a small chance to dodge, you are right : the proof whould be inconclusive.
Can anyone confirm or deny that??
see that post for the definitive answer:
