I hear a lot of complaining on these boards, AP2, rapiers, etc.
Personally, I love fencer. While it has its definate holes and obvious mistakes, I really like fencer as a profession. While I do not see it as being comparable to a REAL fencer, it is its own profession. It can be perfectly blended with another melee profession, or even a ranged one. The damage is low, the defenses high... While we could use higher damage/higher AP weapons, we seem to function ok without them. Sure we can't solo things because we don't have a high DPS, but we can tank. Again, not true to a real fencer, but we have a very important purpose. Our weapons look really stupid, and their graphics/animation lack something (including the abilitiy to stop the attack midway through instead of finishing the entire animation while your target kites you) and our swords suck, but I'm impressed with our ability to blend, mesh, protect, and still fend for ourselves. I've heard of fencers taking on Jedi's and winning (guardians)...
Anyway, I saw today a BH Pistols 4/Master Pistoleer (they have the second highest accuracy in the game) being chased by a Blademaster. They were both fully buffed. The pistoleer was kiting as best he could... using his stun geonosian pistol etc. Pistoleers actually have mods that allow them to kite while shooting accuratly. I was watching them fight... the pistoleer slowly but surely loosing his HAM while the fencer's health and action were never hit. His mind went down by 7, and then up again, but he was never shot. The fencer won... and moved onto his next target. I joined his group and we annihilated the invaders with the rest of the group. In anchorhead, fencers are one of the most feared professions, the other probably being CM and Master Riflemen. Considering our DPS vs Rifles... and the sheer destrction of a CM... I found it funny how TKM's ran away unwilling to engage me.
Just thought I'd tell you guys that.

i like the fencer profession aswell as i find the moves look good and the xp is fast..
spread the word that lok is the best place forxp do nyms theme park and get 100k xp + for the whole theme park.

Anyone see that 1 handed hit 1 is one of the cooler attacks but its so weak hehe. I love fencer as well....fun to rp as well.

I have to agreewith you. Fencer is an awesome profession. About 2 weeks afterI mastered itIdecided to duel 2 of my guild mates and our city's mayor, his alt character to be exact. It wasnt a serious duel we just wanted to fool around. So they were all attacking me and all of a sudden a burst from the flame, not flame single specials or cone just the generic fireball type thing. Well i am a wookiee and i jump a lot as a fencer. As the fireball in all its wickedness came at me i jumped OVER it . It was the coolest thing i have ever seen. I cleared that thing like i was doing an ollie or something. It looked so ridiculous but also very cool at the same time . I dont know if they noticed but i did and i was in tears with laughter. All in all i love the defense we have and with my crappy 171 max stun baton i can unleash some damage on armored opponents.
I will probably never drop fencer just because i love it so much. We have our disadvantages at times but overall its a great profession. I fear no other profession then Rifleman and CM's.

This may be off the topic, but I was dueling a commando, and I "medical foraged" at him, (a crappy replacement for the Moon emote).
Anyway, he Flame Singled me and a HUGE fiery ball exploded from my butt.
I soooooo wish I had a screenshot.
I couldnt stop laughing for quite awhile.

Nothing beats Endor-exp, theres 2 hunting-caves in your POI, you shuold really check thoose out, made 100k exp clearing it out, and then i just did some missions while waiting for respawn.

I would definitely have to agree that fencer is my favorite profession in SWG. The only complaint I have ever had is the fact that we get a metal stick as our main weapon. AP would be nice, but hey, I prefer my ability to keep from getting hit and if I really want AP weapons, I can always pull out one of my swordsman weapons.

Fencer was my first holo. I wasn't happy about it at first, but after after mastering and seeing how powerful I was, I started to like it. Gotta' love being able to tank 12 dark troopers at once. It's a fun profession, and not hard to master once you get footwork 3. I kept it for a couple months until my holo went silent. I was sorry to see it go

I also love fencer and our tanking ability. I just wish we had a decent light armor piercing weapon.
