Thread: master brawler really that important?

im trying to write a fencer based template, so far my best idea is:
master fencer/4304 tka/1040 pistoleer/2140 medic/0044 combat prowess
im trying to be a tank basically so i was wondering if the extra +5 toughness from master brawler is that important..and i prefer fencer to tka, i mean i can survive without intimidate 2 and warcry 2.
btw the template i quoted above has the following stats:
136 melee defence
116 ranged defence
120 def vs KD
90 def vs blind
100 def vs posture change
85 def vs dizzy
55 def vs stun
20 def vs intimidate
130 dodge
2 ranged mit
3 melee mit
32 1 handed toughness

Your main problem if your going to tank as a fencer is your toughness, and to be honest i dont think that +5 is going to help you much.
Just as a little example i dropped TKM last week, just before i dropped it i was on a guildhunt and i tanked 3-4 elders without much problems. Now only a few days ago i was out hunting some nightsisters with a swordsman friend of mine, and believe it or not i had serious problems with even tanking protectors, dodge didnt do crap for me she just kept hitting and my low toughness made it very hard to stay alive.
Anyways thats just my experience so far and i havent been a fencer for that long, probably someone else that has other and probably better opinions out there

Master Brawler rules because you get Intimidate 2 which sticks for 2mins and reduces damage output GREATLY
Warcry 2 for when you want to heal and need some time
One Hand Lunge 2...This hit owns when you combine it with Dizzy Hit 2+Lunge 2...its a great combo for PvP
You pick up 5 melee and 5 ranged defense which is good, you get CoB Effiecny and Cob Duration for a longer and more effective CoB...And as for being a good tank, id say you do damn well with Master Brawler+Master Fencer with something like Medic thrown in to the Template...I'm currently TKM+MFencer+MBrawler(with Medic 3340) and I'd have to say its the most effective template ive tried out, and i use Fencer PvP and TKA for PvE.
