Ive found when it comes to taking a beating as a fencer we cant really hold up well. It will get better as u go up the tree but my advice to u is to get a meatshield in other words a pet.

Thanks I thought as much, just hate the idea that we can't hold it our selves. But guess that's the life of a fencer

Honestly, if you want staying power, you are going to need to get some decent chitin armor (40-50% does nicely). It may hurt you if you are really into using your specials in PvE, but at least you wont be down in one hit next time.

"So I swoop upon the foe, and I will slay,
I will hew them into pieces, I will dash them into dust;
Like Baal in his strength, on their rearward, lo! I fell,
And I killed them, none escaped me, and I slew, and slew, and slew."

I suggest good ubese, low HAM, and if you can get a buddy to slice it, it'll become your favorite item in the game.

The truth is though, I was looking at our dodge skills, and it looks like we should dodge enough shots so that the damage we take is reduced to about how much our other melee counterparts take.

they're right, you can take on bigger mobs, being 2/4/2/2, I am usually the tank when Im in a group that doesnt want to lose xp from creatures. hehe though I get the great xp from my health hit 2 and they wonder why they're getting nothing...

I'm a pretty new fencer 0/0/0/0 yeah you get the point

But the thing is until now I've tried to go up against anything I could come across just to see how I would hold up against some of the bigger baddies out there thus far I held up pretty good even though i couldn't kill them one on one.

Then last night me and a couple of freinds went to the Tusken forth and three times I was downed in one shot by a tusken warlord. Will this change as i progress in fencer tree? Or do we have a big disadvantage when we have to get up close and personal in order to gain xp with monsters/villains that can down us in one shot

My HAM is 900/900/800 and I wear no armor, aould this be the issue perchance?

Getting mighty frustratet here as I really like to play the guy that takes the punishment but that i quite difficult when you can't

I am 4-4-2-3 ...A Warlord can still 1-shot kill me. You just have to remember that if the NPC cons red to you solo..than he probably has the ability to 1-shot kill you regardless of how many are in your group.

Now as you progress you will be able to play w/ the lesser Tuskens..I can stay in a room w/ 4 Raiders or commoners and (w/ the help of 1 or 2 stimpacks) walk out w/ little wounds to show.

Stick with it.

"three times I was downed in one shot by a tusken warlord."

no toughness will protect you from ranged. You need armor to not get 1 shotted by upper level tuskens, night sisters, and force sensitives.

Asa 0201 Wookiee Fencer, I can sympathize with you. Melee is at a signficant disadvantage in epic encounters. Even with pets, we have to manage our range so precisely that it's easy to slip up and get whacked. It's even worse when the target is moving around.

But, all hope is not lost - I find that good Doctor buffs, some food, and some spicegoes a long way towards helping me survive these encounters. Although,if I get Cho Sun'd, it's game over no matter the buffage. I haven't figured out how Entertainer buffs work, but my hope is that they work like Doctor buffs.
