Hi there, I'm a WS from Radiant. I just took 3 difference approaches toward making Stun Batons, one with Acklay Bones, one with a killer loot drop Geonosian Reinforcement Core & a Geonosian Schematic Core made with some nice Yellow Cubes and 17 Max Power Solid Agent.

My constants:

999 Shock Iron

994 Shock Steel

793 Shock Copper

354 Shock Crystal

Cores:

#1: Acklay Bones 65 min 65 max

#2: "loot drop" Geonosian Reinforcement Core 64-52 damage -0.488 Speed +17 Wound Chance +29 Ideal Range HAM 6/5/7

#3: Geonosian Reinforcement Core Schematic Core made with 14 min 25 Max Yellow Cube + 17 Power Solidifying Agent

Results:

#1: 113-156 Damage 3.1 Speed 2.7% Wound Chance -6 Ranges 8 / 40 / 34 HAM

#2: 113-143 Damage 2.6 Speed 19.9% Wound Chance +26 Ideal Range 14 / 45 / 42 HAM

#3: 104-176 Damage 2.5 Speed 15.1% Wound Chance +6 Ranges 19 / 50 / 44

Of course it comes down to the slice, but which Baton out of the three would you prefer to have? I'd estimate even a 10-10 Yellow Cube + 10 Power Solid Agent would make a 100-154 Damage 2.5 Speed Baton.

Kind of interesting the potential of the Genosian Reinforcement Core Schematic vs. less than ideal Acklay Bones, eh? You only need 1 Yellow Cube and 1 Solid Agent to use the Geo Core Schematic too. Getting the Bones from the Acklay vs. his AWESOME Padded Armor Hide Segments, Grenade Poison, the wicked BONE ARMOR SCHEMATIC or.. nothing?

Might not be a bad idea to stock up on Geo Reinforcement Core Schematic Batons with the Publish 7 crafting/experimentation uncertainies.

Good work on the test. However, the Acklay Bones used are the lowest possible I think, like 30 -.3 Krayt Tissue, and it sounds like you used the best possible cubes and agent.Speed is also not much of a factor to a Blademaster. I've never really cared much for wound chance(am I wrong in doing so?), but the ranges are a lot better with the non-Acklay ones. The HAM costs are also significantly lower for the Acklay one.

While I would agree that any of those stun batons are better then the average, I still have to favor the acklay baton for 2 reasons. The first is the tight range the weapon gives, because it's adding onto the min damage. If I understand how damage mitigation works... facing someone with melee damage mitigation 3, would yeild the following stats on the batons:

-reinforcement core schem
new max damage=((176-104)*0.25)+104=122
PvP(damamge mitigation III) range=104-122

-acklay baton
new max damage=((156-113)*0.25)+113=124
PvP(damage mitigation III) range=113-124

Ultimately, min damage is the stat you want to look at when thinking about PvP and weapons. As impressive as krayt guns can get, someone with range mitigation 3 can really benefit, and make those guns look average. Which is why acklay bones were such a god-send... not only does it shift the max damage to a higher level, but it shifts the min damage, and therefore the damage range of the weapon.

The second reason is the lower HAM costs, since in theory speed doesn't really matter to master fencers.

Not to say the schem. drops aren't excellent... but if I had a choice of the 3 weapons.. I'd still pick the acklay baton.

I think that's what you meant. Anyway your Mitigation figures are a little off, Mit 3 only reduces the range by 60%, not 75%, so instead of *.25, it should be *.4

Thanks for the feedback thus far.

Yeah, the bones I used are like a 30 max -0.3 Krayt Tissue. The looted cores are,as awhole, pretty worthless. My crafted Advanced Core does 41 min 41 max and -0.57 speed +9 range 10/10/10 HAM. To me, unless the looted cores are above this, which is somewhat rare because you nearly always loot junk 25/25's or ones that don't even break 40/40, just destroy them as you loot them. I'm at the point now where I destroy any white cubes I loot too.

I have looted better bones than this obviously, my best so far are 144 min 100 max, which oddly enough, made a perfect 192-192 damage 3.1 speed Baton. Couple of them came out 192 min 180ish max, which I thought was pretty cool.

The identical damage batonsdo not always do the same damage, but the damage range is VERY tight, nice and consistant. I saw some pre-nerf bones with max damage of 252, which my customer made Power Hammers with. His best PH's had unsliced max damage of 732! I'd estimate such bones would have made a max damage 344 unsliced baton. Factor in even a 25% damage slice and 16% max PU, you're at about 500 max damage.

Myself, I don't understand the concept of Acklay Loot. Either you get nothing, a bone armor schematic, grenade poison, padded armor segments, or these incredible class changing bones... I think I have 30+ solo Acklay kills now and have 6 or 7 bone loots.

Tonight I just looted some 22 min Yellow Cubes and matching 16 max Solid Agents, I'll let you guys know how those turn out. I gotta unload my PVE char from the nights haul, it is filled with Reds, Greens, Yellows, Spider Fangs, Spider Venom and unfortunately, that incredible bone armor schematic. I think when they release Publish 7, the Cave is gonna be a bit harder, smarter monster AI and the door codes will be random vs. static numbers.
