Thread: DUAL WEILD will fix the DPS LOSS due to the 1 sec spd cap, if.......

if they make fencers able to DW any fencer weapons!!!!


just think, it will be fixed almost perfectly (ill get to why almost later)


if they were in favor of giving us a .5 sec speed cap, which would double or DPS and HAM cost per sec, then they should just let us dual wield any fencer weapon because that would do the same thing.


No accuracy penalties!


No reduced defenses!


No less-than double DPS!


just straight quip one weapon and equip another. Bam! dual weild.


we wouldnt be over powered.


in fact we would be under-powered (as far as how powerful we would be if we had a .5 sec spd cap)


why?


because with a .5 sec speed cap we would be able to apply 2 status effects in the time it would take other profs at least twice as long to do.


dizz/KD anyone?

juts give us straight DW and it will be fine



p.s. oh yea and the animations could us a bit of a tweak to acomodate (is that how u spell it?) the dual weild-ness

Keep dreaming. Dual wield will be implemented in such a way that it really becomes a mainly animation effect. I'm sure it will also give us the choice of using two different weapons at the same time. But it will not increase our DPS.

I still think 99% of the people who talk about dual weilding weapons, miss the HUGE point, that all of our animations are set up for ONE weapon.... so exactly how they are going to implement dual weilding is yet to be known... if they just trash our profession and make it forced dual weilding. I.. along with a lot of people will get a little annoyed... but if they just toss it in without thinking how our specials will look now that we're holding two weapons... then I will also be annoyed... so how "fencers" will be "dual weilding".. we shall see.. and I will not get annoyed at anyone's ideas.... because they are just that... Let's just all unite under the title of "please no half-ass solution"... I think everyone can agree to that...

they did a new motion capture for dual weilding..that means theyre making new animations for dw..what, did u think theyd just have us hold two gaffis at the same time and only fight with one? swg would never sink so low! never!

I'm looking forward to this. I have always said one of the best things soe had done in this game was the animations of fencer attacks. I think this is one improvement that I will enjoy.

Yeah, don't get me wrong. I think it's a great idea and I will love it. The combat benefit in my opinion will be the ability to mix in two different weapons. In EQ, dual wielding professions used this advantage by having each weapon serve a particular purpose. For instance, you can imagine wielding your big hitter in one hand, and a DOT weapon in the other. The tricky thing will be whether we can adequately control the two weapons in line with our special attacks. Will they just alternate between hits, or will there be some way of choosing what each weapon does? For instance, I can imagine using a stun baton and a dagger. The stun baton is throwing out scatter hits and what not, while the dagger is doing status effects like dizzy/blind/lunge. I would love to be able to control that output.

It's probably the same engine that changes your animations the moment you wield a diff weapon. It sets your status to "duel wield" and all animations from that point forward (until you go back to single-wield) will be the new animations. Nothing too difficult.

what are you talking about?


why wouldnt i t increase our dps?


our damage loss due to the speed cap has been one of the main fencer issues for quite some time.


originally they were going to lower the speed cap to .5 secs, effectively doubling our dps (which means that they are in favor of doubling our dps)


but becuse of some server problem they said that they couldnt do it.


so the different way t o double or dps would be to let us dual wiled as i said. and just like the guy above me said, they can give us dif animations when dual or single wielding


the increase of dps is what fencers need most it would be stupid not ti give it to us

if they do double the dps they will double the ham costs as well which means dont use them unbuffed

well.....they never said that and i never said they did but they did agree that our DPS was to low and that a solution that they had come up with and were working on was to lower our speed cap to .5
