Thread: Melee gimped? I think not...

I dont think melee is gimped at all. I can take any ranged person in PvP easily. Battles with full temp jedi last several minutes, sometimes I win, sometimes they win. If you think melee is gimped, play around with a different template and really learn the mechanics of combat. It just takes practice...and I have lots more practice to go myself. =)


I've respec'd almost every day trying many BH/ranged combos and melee combos, and my current template is by far my favorite.


TKM (Innate armor, improved CoB, improved KD)

Fencer: x4x4 (same 1hand skill mods as master fencer, action debuff, snare)

Swordsman: xx34 (advanced armor break, improved critical strike)

Doc: 4xxx (heals, bacta infusion)


Improved CoB + Bacta Infusion FTW!


I have a sliced an ADK'd Junti Mace, and a slice ADK'd Blade of Nyenth'whatever both over 1100 max damage without a PUP.


No need for armor. Working on putting together a 1hand speed mod suit to add another +25 to my 1hand speed. With a damage PUP on my mace or blade my DPS is well over 600.


Armor break + KD + Critical strike


I'm working on getting some PvP and duel video footage together as examples.

Also, a little tip for PvP/long PvE encounters...you don't always need to use your highest skill box specials. Melee Hit and Melee Strike go a long way, and will leave you plenty of action to continue.

It is annoying that you can be more sucessful with 1 handed weapons than a MFencer though.

melee > all except the skilled CM/carbs ( or rifles)


and i can beat a lot of the cm's, but the skilled ones with enhancers who know what they are doing give me so much trouble

melee gimped no, people playing who can't pvp no matter what the template are gimped. Give me any half decent template and equipment and I'll do well I garantee it.

I agree melee is not gimped, ranged people do their jobs as do melee. Ranged people use roots and snares to keep the melee people back, when the roots/snares wear off the melee people charge, if the ranged person doesn't evade or switch to more defensive melee weapons then they are quickly destroyed up close (beleive me, if you get close to a ranged person and KD/armor break them, it's over for them) however if the ranged person stays out of range or is a good healer he can quickly destroy the melee person with the right weapons (aka rifles)


Done with 2 skilled opponents, PVP is very balanced

no way is melee gimped, i do awsome in pvp with my fencer temp, enjoy it loads too

A Swordsman jumping in...but melee is better than I originally thought when the CU first came out...I did the ranged stuff right after the CU...Prior Swordsman-Melee Stacker Pre CU....but range just sucks...If you think rifleman is good then u never played it...Your best attack is done while prone and 20m away. Also the ranged weapon hinderances are very annoying. Its a constant snare for ranged people...Now im back melee with Swords/Doc/TKA 0010 and it is a very nice temp. People generally think i have uber weapons and uber gear with the best attachments...but i dont...i just know what im doing..
