Thread: Working together on the states... :P
I am wondering...
Have the Developers officially (at least to ARC_Casper) acknowledged that Bleed at this moment is severly broken?
(Not only damage, but Advanced Bleed attack pops up at Improved Bleed Attack in the combat log and the values are way off!)
Have ARC_Casper acknowledged that Blind appears to have a very limited effect that is impossible to spot with the naked eye?
If yes, have the Developers officially (at least to ARC_Casper) acknowledged that Blind at this moment is a fairly limited state that might be fixed eventually.
Having asked that I'd like toadd my reasons for posting here:
I hate FotM templates (munchkins would be the rpg term)... and I love diversity...
I want a game where I see different templates every day. Where a group of players consists of as many different professions as there are players in the group.
I would like to see the event where 2 people play the same templates in the same group to be a rare event.
This is why I play a roleplaying game.
You might know you are notalone about Scatter Hit/Bleed and Blind. Maybe it's possible to team up with other professions/correspondants who have similar issues and push for repairing theese states. It's not just about fixing Fencers, it's about fixing parts of the Combat Upgrade that was originally meant to upkeep balance and create diversity. While theese states are allowed to be broken they create a chain reaction throughout the entire game, causing multiple professions to be less rewarding. This produces fotm templates, tearing down diversity, making the game painful for thoose who do not want to go with the current fotm, and repetitive and boring for everybody else. This was exactly what the CU where supposed to fix, but since things like Bleed/Blind remain like they where four months ago, we can label the CU as unfinished and failed.
Jedi in general works against themselves to have them fixed, becouse they know that fixing issues takes power from the current MLS/MDef FotM. Pushing theese issues to the Jedi Correspondent have proven useless, but at Tanks (BH Correspondant) consider some of it as BH issues.
Your broken Bleed actually effects the value of seven different professions.
Bounty Hunter- Torso Shot
Lightsaber - Saber Slash
Fencer - Bleed Attack
Doctor - Bandage
Force Healer - Stop Bleeding
Force Enhancer - Resist Bleeding
Chef - Anti Bleed foods
Your weak Blind actually effects the value of six different professions.
Bounty Hunter - Eye Shot
Lightsaber - Saber Blind
Fencer - Blinding Strike
Commando - Acid weapons and glop grenade
Doctor - Stabilizers
Force Healer - Heal States
Force Enhancer - Resist States
And if you add the fact that Blind is related to Dizzy and Stun (similar issues), fixing it also helps another four:
Teras Kasi - Dizzy Attack (Dizzy)
Force Wielder - Mind Blast (Dizzy+Stun) Force Throw (Stun)
Pistoleer - Burst Shot (Stun)
Pikeman - Stunning Blow (Stun)
Finally, as you might know, Scatter Hit effects 3 professions:
Carbineer - Scatter Shot
Fencer- Scatter Hit
Teras Kasi - Combo Attack
I acknowledge that finishing the Combat Upgrade have a long way to go. But I believe it would be good by starting with all thoose abilities that are used by multiple professions... thoose are the ones that have the greatest chance of impacting the game.

Fencers understand this, and we've been working hard to fix it, being that our basic effectiveness relies on these state effects, the whole post CU fencer strategy balances on them more than many classes, and without them we are nothing more than a shell of a profession.
