Thread: Master Fencer PvP question.

How does Master Fencer do w/ PvP? I'm currently grinding a PvP Template and am debating adding master fencer or not.. I assumed that because of the stun baton Fencer would own in PvP... however a friend told me fencers arent as powerful as swords in PvP... can someone explain why Fencer is good/bad for PvP to me?

I forgot to mention I'm currently TKM... and am looking to expand into a PvP template.

Well, if you are speed capped with swords, then yes. But that's a lot of money in skill tapes, or however long waiting to be force sensitive for the speed bonus.


But, even with the sword templet, you can grab some fencer defenses as well.

I can understand the swords.. especially for the mind hit.. but the stun baton is soo awesome.. I didnt realize the PSG stacks on top of the stun armor.. that is complete crap... i bet that makes a lot of fencers mad.




Fencer defences are great, but stun batons aren't the end all. The damage modifiers on a good powerhammer in the right hands will decimate a mind before a fencer with a very good stun baton has scratched the surface of their opponent. I'm sure you've heard it before, but the template is only a start, getting a hold of the right equipment is just as important. Just with myacklay batonand dots I can beat a friend with a better template on paper than me. But, all that aside, right now I think the toughest PVP folks are defense-stacked, speed-capped swordsmen with nice powerhammers.

You guys are forgetting... you can get some sweet gaffis... stun isn't the only type of damage fencers can deal...

I agree and I have an excellent gaffi that jedis love to hate. Problem with the gaffi is that it's rarely equipped as it's not really a viable weapon against the average non-jedi with 80%+ base armor, 50% PSG, and synthsteak.

fencer is awesome in pvp if they arent wearing stun armor, but if they have 35%+ stun armor and a 45% imp psg on you can barely damage them even if you have a 600 max stun baton so yeah swordsmen is overall better in pvp but its only good if you are speed capped with swords, otherwise you are very slow attacking with a powerhammer

lmao...swordsmen, there is no swordsman that can beat me. fencer is very powerfull with the right baton, mine is 433 max damage and i beat the **edit** out of swordsman WITH stun armor no problem. see the thing is a powerhammer is so rediculously inaccurate that it cant even hit me (-45 to all for accuracy mod) and a scythe is lucky to hit me for over 45 mind damage after going threw my 87% kinetic helm. all you have to do is blind them and have COB running and they cant hit **edit**. And if you are worried about one doing damage to you just use sysnsteak and intimidate them, so after they hit you for half the damage it is nocked down to 45% less than that then the armor takes out the rest. so if he hits you for 1k mind damage it is cut down to 500 damage then to 270 then that goes into your armor which results in a hit that started at 1k turning to a hit that is only THIRTY DAMAGE. oh yeah forgot to put melee mitigation in there so it will be even less than that lol. Anyways fencer is very hard to hit and can hit for over 1k stun damage with the right stun baton...good fun. and yes we can partially target mind, scatter hit 2 hits all pools at once, health being given most of the damage but mind still goes down. Oh yeah jedi have problems hitting us too, incaped a DJK the other night but they werent on synsteak....i think.

PSGs don't block kinetic.... Scatter hit 2 takes 3 synthsteak at once.... Fencers arn't hard to hit citros + intimdation = bad for fencers.... gaffi sticks are NO AP so they do even less to armored opponents... unless they're ranegd then fencers get a25% damage + to ranged people even if they have melee mitigation etc. Fencer CAN be good but you just have to know how to use it.
