I have recently Mastered the Fencer trade trying to see if I like it more than TKM as a compliment to my MD skills. I'll have to admit that I don't have a whole lot of time in trade yet, however it should be noted that I spent just a little under two weeks training to this level(arguably longer than most nowadays lol).

Anyways last night I entered PvP to try somethings out and got royally humbled by a master pistoleer/something else. I performed ok I guess but there was no chance of me winning the fight. It did convince me that I needed to reorg my toolbar, which I did. I later duelled my friend, a WS/TKM. this fight took quite awhile since we were both buffed. If it wasn't for the fact that I had a mind buff the fight would have been considerably shorter. So apparently I have the xp for the title of Master Fencer but I don't fight like one :/

I couldn't figure out how to best my friend, maybe I'm spoiled with having KD before. I guess I have to find my style, it just seems(to me atm) that the main attribute that a "pure" Fencer can attack is easily negated by a buff (ironically one that I applied).

well here's a quick suggestion for ya. as far as master brawler goes, don't really need it. I have it just for the extra's, but all the fencer's that i personally know who are pretty good in pvp do not have it. I used to be nothing but tkm and my friend was master fencer. He would own me about 80% of the time. Now there was several times that I could own him, but he was much more exp. with pvp than me. I than got Master fencer thinking it would even things up a little. well, he still owns me. See my point here is that is doesn't matter a whole lot (it does some though of course) as to what your prof is, you just have to learn how to use it. I did end up keeping Fencer however and am enjoying it quite a bit. I hunt with my friend quite a bit who is tkm, and when we hunt Nightsister's I end up mopping up while she is dead on the ground. Course that's after she wiped most of em up.

You don't need a KD......................dizzy2 + lunge1 = enemy flopping like a fish

Heck, in a world of +100 KD defense food, this is better than having a KD

An acklay stun baton really makes a fencer IMHO...cant compete in pvp w/o one. My personal one does right at 400 max with no powerup...essential for comp armored opponents.

that's the problem a TK can compete in PvP with a 10k or so weapon while a fencer needs a 2 million or more weapon to do well well that's how i see it

Fighting the pistoleer i would have ran into a closed space, like a building and drawn him in there. THis is sorta a random post but that would of been my bet for the pistoleer. As for what I do in pvp. I intimidate imediately and COB macro is a must. I do the dizzy/KD or atleast try to, then scatter them to hell. Fought a MasterSwordsman other day which we agreed I would used the gaffi on her. 15 min later, we were both going at it, diference in the whole fight even though neither one got incapped you ask? When it all ended, I had 120 bf and average wound of 25 through all pools. My swordsman friend had 1050 bf and average wound of 250. Scatter hit is a **edit** and I really foundto appreciate finally to how well dodge works. Needless to say, after the fight my friend ended up buying new armor and replacing the PSG I blew up in the first duel we did which ended easily with the STUN stick. I used a Gaffi with a green geo cube. 38% wound. Does anyone know that you can get ackley gaffi's?
