Thread: What weapon to use now...and branch help?

I am almost novice fencer, but I am finding that everyone is telling me different things for weapons. Some say stun batons get over 400 damage, but a master w.smith told me that if its over 200, its sliced and will be a million credits. I am using a sliced Gaderiffi baton that is [email protected]. I don't know if I should spend the money on a stun baton, seek out a Ryyk that is sliced, or stick with my Gaderiffi. I don't pvp at all. I am FS and need to master a combat prof. in order to make enough exp for my sensitivity exp. I had master sword and master pike before summer, but dropped em both. Any help would be great. Also, what branches should i do first in Fencer tree?

ooo i have the same questions plz! I too am new (new to the profession as well to the game) and i'm really confused... currently using a curved sword thingy but not sure where to go next... also confused about fencer branching as well.

keep to the gaderfi. its ugly, but cheap and good damage. speed is good and specials HAM cost low.
a Stunbaton (150-200 dam)can come in handy when fighting criters with a stun vulnerability. some 400+ damage stunbatons exists but are custom made with loot components, and are EXTREMELY expensive (millions credits)
You dont need a curved sword's great speed while novice fencer, as you soon hit thespeed cap. you dont want a Ryyk blade even if it's the most cool looking weapon, because specials HAM costs are too high.
maybe invest in some melee powerups if you got money to burn.

Let me ask, is having a gaderfii made with a rancors tooth any good? I got some doing the Jabbas'sthemepark and got them via that way. Thx!

rancor tooth are good, but those from jabba TP are lousy examples, and wont bring any extraordinary result.
try asking a real good WS what is needed for a 350+ damage gaffi.

rancor tooth was good early on on the server but now most WS have good enough material to put crafted components tha work better than rancor tooth...
to the original poster: stick to your gaderiffi baton, u can find damaged sliced ones that go around 300 dmg... anything more than that and it's acklay enhanced or looted and should cost a little extra.
go up the footwork line first to get your speed and spinattack2... after that the other two lines will go by very fast.
one more thing. if u gonna hunt on dathomir for long take whatever u can in scout (maybe some veghash if u dont use stomach filling for anything else) and u can farm some crazy amounts of meat.... just keep your eyes open for new spawns and u can sell for nice cash to BE/Chef/Doctor (or just leave low quality stuff for 3cpu at bazaar... 100 rancors and u got a 25k stack of resources)

I've found it easier to use a speed-sliced quality curved sword to Expert Footwork (since you can get close to the speed cap) then damage sliced gaffi my way through just about all the rest of the Fencer tree.
I occasionally use a stun baton in PvE, though I have a 200+ damage max one, since my max 293 w/o PuP gaffi usually does more damage against typical targets. There are exceptions though, stun-vulnerable ones.. and I have a mediocre vibroblade for that work.
So pick your target that you like to kill, and find a weapon that matches its vulnerabilities.
If you're broke then sticking with your gaffi through several Mokk sologroups should make you enough money for acklay weaponry. Once you hit an elite prof it'so easy to make money in this game it is sad. I don't do it personally since it's so tediously dull.

I wentwith a Ryyk. Then again, thats a pretty good Gaffi.

I got lucky on my Ryyk. 150 damage 1.7 speed. Pretty cheap too. 4k.
