Fencer’s Closet: BE Clothing

Many questions have been asked about BE (bio-engineered) clothing, but aside from looking on the forums, no one really knows what it does, or how it functions. Hopefully, this thread will answer some of your questions.

Who makes it?

Tailors make the clothing, and Bio Engineers make the synthetic cloth and reinforced fiber panels that go into the BE clothing. Do a search on your local server, or check your galaxy forum to see who is a Tailor or BE in you server. BE’s can make these particular items for you, and you can have a Tailor apply this items to the clothing of your choosing (which is usually the cheaper route to go).

What is it?

Bio-engineered clothing is special clothing woven with tissues, which are created by Bio Engineers, which have varying skill modifiers.

When should I wear it?

You can wear it like normal clothing, and requires no special needs for you to wear it.

Where does it fit in with Fencer?

There are various types of BE clothing that will boost the mods in your template, as with any other profession.Tissues are supposed to stack, so you can put several tissues onto a piece of clothing to create an item with multiple skill modifiers (this is kind of bugged at the moment, though).

Some of the favored enhanced clothing that I have seen worn by some fencers:

Paramilitary Camo pants: +4 melee Defense / +16 Defense Vs. Stun / +14 Mask Scent

Formfitting Undershirt: +17 Intimidation / +17 Warcry

Spec Ops Duster: +17 Bleed Defense

Why should I wear it?

Why do Docs and Dancers where enhanced clothing? If certain clothing helps you perform better, why not wear it? But be forwarned:

*There's a 25% cap on each skill modifier, no matter how many tissues you stack. It may show you skill has increased 40 or 2,000,000 points, but experiments have shown that it is actually only 25.

*Each piece of clothing can have a maximum of 6 skill modifiers

How does each treatment function?

Below is a list of treatments, and the breakdown of what each one does:

::Tissues (for Synthetic Cloth) ::

Tissues Skill Modifiers

Myoflex Cloth Treatment +Dancer/Musician Wound Healing

Enhanced Myoflex Treatment +Dancer/Musician Wound Healing (Advanced)

Passive Biosensors +Injury/Wound Treatment

Active Biosensors +Injury/Wound Treatment (Advanced)

Passive Tranquilizers +Wild/Vicious Creature Taming

Active Tranquilizers +Wild/Vicious Creature Taming (Advanced)

:: Tissues (for Reinforced Fiber Panels) ::

Tissues Skill Modifiers

Constrictor Cloth +Bleeding Defense

Coagulant Agents +Bleeding Defense (Advanced)

Confidence Cloth +Warcry/Intimidation

Fear Release +Warcry/Intimidation (Advanced)

Scent Camouflage +Camouflage/Mask Scent

Scent Neutralization +Camouflage/Mask Scent (Advanced)

Visual Camouflage +Cover

Mimetic Circuitry +Cover (Advanced)

Toughened Fibers +Melee/Stun Defense

Tensile Resistance +Melee/Stun Defense (Advanced)

Kinda sucks that you cant get all clothing parts with BE items...ive never seen BE boots...but i usually wear armor boots so it doesnt matter, BE clothing really does help though, and ive heard of jedi wearing full BE stuff cause the benefits are more than a measly padawan robe

It does suck at times, but I wish the devs would give the BE/Tailors more of a variety to work with. Or make profession specific enhanced clothing. Instead of going out and hunting down SEA dodge taps, I would love for a Tailor to make me a Dodge shirt, or a ToHit Bonus shirt.

okay let me clarify a few things about this thread:

  1. BE's make the TISSUES that tailors use to make Synthetic Cloth, Etc.

  2. Most Players will never interact with the BE in the BE clothing process (unless your a Master Fencer/Master Tailor )... so if you see a BE don't ask him for the materials/tissues/etc (to many reasons to list why not to ask a BE).

  3. The only mods that would be useful to just a fencer would be +Intim/Warcry, or +bleeding Def.

  4. Ifyou are a fencer medic/doc I recomend Parlementry Camoswith Injury/Wound Treatment Bonuses, AND Intim/Warcy Mods. (parlimentry camos are the only article of clothing I'vefoundthatallow 4 MODS), combined with a formfitting undershirt with any of the other mods that I've mentioned.

  5. The Highest any MOD can go is +20 in the crafting process (+19 is my personal best). However Synthetic Cloth Mods can stack to a total of +25 (ie +25 Dancing/Music Wound Healing)

  6. +melee def/Def Vs Stun Mods are pointless for fencers to use cause chances are you are already maxed out on these stats.

  7. THE ONLY CLOTHES THAT CAN ACCEPT MODS ARE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Pants (includes a few skirts, etc)

  • Shirts (includes Robes/Dusters)

  • Bandoleirs

  • Hats

Hope this helps alieviate some headaches for you and your tailor Remeber Docs make your stats better, but Tailors make YOU look better... so compensate them fairly for awesome clothes

Tailors make the clothing, and Bio Engineers make the synthetic cloth and reinforced fiber panels that go into the BE clothing.I thought that was specific enough.

Why not ask? I provide my own stuff for them to make the materials/tissues/etc, and are more than happy to make them for me.

You forgot Melee/Stun. Works wonders for a lot of fencers I know.

Paramilitary Camos and a Formfitting shirt with the mods you mentioned were my first BE clothes, and I still get them to this day. I love'em!

The Highest any MOD can go is +20 in the crafting process (+19 is my personal best). However Synthetic Cloth Mods can stack to a total of +25 (ie +25 Dancing/Music Wound Healing)

Cool

+melee def/Def Vs Stun Mods are pointless for fencers to use cause chances are you are already maxed out on these stats.

Maybe at the master level, but what about the fencers just starting out? It's good for them in the early stages if they choose to where it for the time being, IMO.

THE ONLY CLOTHES THAT CAN ACCEPT MODS ARE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Pants (includes a few skirts, etc)

  • Shirts (includes Robes/Dusters)

  • Bandoleirs

  • Hats

Thanks for the heads-up.

Hope this helps alieviate some headaches for you and your tailor

No headaches from the get-go, but thanks for your concern! I was hoping someone would come along and hopefully correct a few things that I might have said wrong in this post, but I thought everything was clear. I missed the specific clothes, though. /slaps head

Remeber Docs make your stats better, but Tailors make YOU look better... so compensate them fairly for awesome clothes

The most SHAMELESS Tailor plug I've ever read!

Seriously, thanks for the input. I have no problem taking criticism. It lets me know someone out there is paying attention and wants to get info across like me. If you don't mind, I'd like to insert the info you gave me, and put it into this thread, if you don't mind. Holla at me first.

Bio-engineers make tissues. Tailors make SC or RFPs from the tissues. Then they use these in clothes. If you want to buy tissues direct from a BE to take to a tailor you should first check with the tailor on the number of tissues needed. Some items of clothing require two or more RFPs, which means the tailor needs to get them from a factory run, which means he needs at least three tissues (one for the schematic). It's usually best to let your tailor handle the tissue buying process.

As a fencer you are only going to be interested in the injury/wound treatment mods in SC. All the other mods of interest to us are RFP based. You can stack bonuses across clothes up to the maximum of +25 so you are better off putting some medic into a pair of camos and some into a jacket or duster. This will stack you to +25 while allowing you to have two of the "combat" mods as well (camos and some jackets allow SC and RFP together). Alternatively if you wanted to wear an armour chestplate and boots you could have your +25 medic in a shirt and some legwear with, for example, warcy/intim.

It would be nice to have a wider variety of mods in clothes. This is a BE top issue and I believe a tailor one too.

I'd love it if BE's and Tailors had a wider variety of mods in clothes. Which is why I don't care for SEA's at all. All those +mods you see in SEA's could have went into BE's and Tailors to make, IMO. Hopefully, BE's and Tailors will get some love soon, whatever your top issues are.
