Your probably gonna get alot of flak from the Fencers here about how they're the worst melee class not Pikemen, but they have good reason since I agree with them and I am a master pikeman myself but also have master footwork in Fencer for the bleeds.
The Pikemen may have more (serious) problems than Fencers but they have one HUGE one that pretty much puts thealot of the other melee classescomplaints to shame. Theirdamage sucks compared any other meleeand the since there is a speed cap they cant make up for it with their faster weapons. And since dealing out damage is pretty much the main point of any combat class I can say with confidence that Fencers are slightly a bit more worse off than Pikemen.
We DO need help though and while we may be a diffrent class we are still melee so please show some support for your melee brothers =) ,just look at whats wrong with our class..
ur defense tree is useless the defenses dont work and the specials are both kd which is now a useless skill as most of you well know.
:All of our best offensive attacks are x3 every other melee's hit 3's to aimed bodyparts & hit 3's at master are x4 this was not the case untill the last patch god knows why they changed it.
ur best weapons have such rediculous to hit rates -30 for vibro lances -58 for Long Vibro Axes, until you get some +accuracy mods from our support tree your gambling with your life even against blue's whenever you use one of these weapons, Not to mention that even at Master Pikeman I have about the same chance to hit something as I do as a Novice Fencer.

The reason I say Pikemen is worst is this.
Fencer gets more defense
Fencer hits a LOT more often (We miss most our attacks as pikemen)
I don't come for flak from Fencers, by all means I suggest all melee classes do a thread like this.. Where they bump it with signatures. I'm positive other melees will support you guys. Melees need to stick together, we're all in the same **edit**ty canoe in a river full of speedboats and jet skis.
Actually fencers may have larger defensive/dodge bonuses on paper. Thosebonuses have very little practical effect. I regularly group with two hand sword users and intermittently with a pike user. There is not a discernible difference against higer level creatures in either the frequency of being hit or the amounts hit for. Dodge appears completely broken; I think I may have dodged once this month. On the other hand, there is an enormousgap in damage caused.
Fencers need better defense because they have to stay in a fight significantly longer than a pike ot two-hand sword user to cause anywhere near equivalent damage. Fencers also look to be at a disadvantage for experience. In a group, expappears to be distributed by damage done, not level. At novice, pike users routinely gets more exp than I in group fights (unless they are exaggerating the exp they say they are getting. Every melee should have significantly better defense against melee damage. It is pretty bad when you need a CH pet taking aggro to stay alive in a fight with something that cons white to your group I just think that fencers just need more help because they have sacrificed offense for defense and speed,butneither benefits them.
Clearly every melee class needs help, and not a HAM intensive tank skill. Until the developers introduce something thatconfers effective speed or defense to fencers, fencers have all the problems of other melee profession with less than half the damage dealt by thhose professions.
