Thread: Why does it go from 15k to 70k?

I can understand why One-Handed III takes 15,000 XP points, but why does One-Handed IV take 70,000 XP points.

I can understand 70k for novice fencer, but it is around 120k for novice fencer, if I am correct. If someone could please explain why there is such a huge gap between One-Handed III -One-Handed IV - Novice Fencer, please explain...

Why should the ranged combat folks get all of the XP, while it takes me about a month or two to get to One-Handed IV. That might be my answer, but why can it take around two weeks to a monthfor someone to reach Novice Bounty Hunter, when it takes me around that time just to make One-Handed IV-Novice Fencer?

I am a casual player, and I enjoy being a Fencer, but I just want some justice here, or I will come back to my fencer when they become reasonable.

Funny Ride,

I was just contemplating the whole xp 'thing' in general. The rate at which I have accumulated xp in Fencer isn't 1/4 the rate I have in CH and Carbineer (which I am now untraining). Even though I rely on my fencing skills MUCH more than I do the other two.

It seems that if the devs are going to stand with this recent 'nerf' then they might offer less xp to level as a compensation...

Just a thought...

Seena who of the two, would much prefer her Fencer to actually be able to *fight* like a fencer.

Well, the thing I have a problem is, the limited number of weapons we get. I can live with the XP that we need to earn, but I just do not like thenumber of weapons we get. Also, if we could actually have some dodging skills, where meleers could dodge more attacks...Just a thought.

Also, with marksman XP, I can probably get a box within an hour. It took me about a week to get to pistoleer on Star Strider. Thats playing around a hour or two a night. So, seven times two is fourteen hours. I still play that much with my fencer, and I am barely on One-Handed IV. I grind XP as much as I can stand without getting to bored.

Then again, with my pistol XP, I went to Rori, and hunted there constantly, till I could make Novice CH. I will try that to see if it is effective. If not...then I will just go to another planet...

It took me one day to get polearms 4, I nearly killed myself in the process. There is a hill in Doaba guerfel near to the left of a skyscraper near the bank. Its a very good place to xp grind on corellia durni's,buttrfly's, gubburs and loons galore. I also got 6 disks that day @.@ One handed 4 seems like its taking longer, probably because it sucks compared tro the damage output of the polearm.

I'd suggest you go hunting on Dantooine or Dathomir..i purely hunt on Dantooine and do huurton missions with my friend, i always come back with around 25k exp when we do our 4 missions..and you make good money.

I got One-Hand IV and Novice Fencer in the same day, hunting.

What you fail to see is that I am a casual player. I can only play up to three hours, or less a day. It really stinks, but such is life.

I just dislike thoe XP jump from 15k to 70k all at once. I can understand in a way, with keeping people interested in mastering a profession, but it gets boring. I want different kinds of swords, or more rewards, but jumping 55k to get one-handed IV is not right. I wish they would change this, and they might, but for now, I will just try as hard as I can to get to novice fencer...

I dunno. It just seems that some professions have stopgaps placed in them. For me, it was getting Novice Fencer and getting past Footwork 2. It just really seems kinda slow. Hopefully the next skill you get breaks the jam and helps you out alot.

Three hours is more then enough time per day if you log on, and get to business right away instead of sitting around.

Hell...it doesn't even take 1 hour to do the 4 missions if you have someone strong with you..I always travel with my fellow Fencer friend..we waste lairs like nothing and it's terrific exp and terrific money for both of us, and it takes way less than 1 hour to do 4 missions.

as the amount of XP needed increases so does the XP gotten from NPCs, it does take some time to go from 1H-IV to Novice but we are not talking months. the best thing to do is not look at your XP bar and just play, For example for the last few weeks I was killing easy blue NPCs near the city to get rebel disk not caring about XP. I was only getting about 100-120 per kill, but I was killing about a 100 per night. Which is about 10,000 - 12,000 XP per night. I have been working a pistol at the sametime so it's slow going but like I said I'm not looking at my XP so I really don't notice it.

Well, as of my progress, I have around 56k right now into One-Handed IV.

Last week, I started with zero, and got it up to there. I grouped on Corellia and did destroy missions, ect. I just kill everything I see pretty much, if I can. I still played less than 3 hours a day, if none at all, so it is going good, I think...

If you want to make xp faster i would suggest you to buy a pet for Non Creature Handler like a cowardly gurreck or a rock bettle. It is a good shield and you can fight stronger enemy if you dont take all the hits. Also as soon you start the fencer tree concentrate to make master in one skills (i personally suggest to make master footwork) instead of doing them all at the same time. A good place to hunt without always getting kill is on Yavin IV. It is easier than Endor or Dantoine and the xp is really nice.

Hey guys i started my new character on Bloodfin on Sunday so far i've gone up to 1 handed 3 and im halfway to four. I dont understand why its taking everyone else so long to get the xp? Maybe its where im hunting, im Narmle on Rori im getting anywhere from 110 which is the lowest to about 550xp a kill. Once i can solo squalls it will be so much more easier.
