Thread: PvP I can't hit anyone Mind Only attacks should be reserved for Jedi's only!
Well,...
I've been playing my Fencer for several weeks now (Brawler for the past month),and I never turn down a good PvP fight. According to the book, Fencers love to fight, are extremely tough to hitand make excellent body gaurds. That just doesn't seem to be the case.....
What's with this "Mind"attack thatall ranged weapon users seem to master. I've seen "Mind" attacks between range weapon duels end in a single shot. Just this evening I attacked a enemy Scout and he killed me in two shots with "Mind" attacks. I tried running after him, but only got one attack for about 250 pts to his body. I had him cornered in the shuttle port and the next thing I know I'm down for the count. This happens all the time.
- Come to think of it, If Fencers had a "Mind" only attack, wouldn't we use itall the time too? Personally, I think the Mind Only attacks should be reserved for Jedi's. Average warriors should NOT be able to attack ones mind without an understanding of theForce.
So, here are some of the issues, as I see it today, for us Fencers in PvP:
- No Mind Attacks (I think, this should be removed for all non-Jedi's)
- No Mind Defense
- No Knock down attacks (I'm always getting knocked down by a Laser blast? That doesn't compute.)
- No Disarming attacks(As a novice fencer in real life, disarming your opponent is always an option.)
- Can NOTattack anyone while running? (Why the heck not? Is it really that hard to swing my sword while I'm running?)
- Can NOT parry or dodge? (Strange, aren't those basic Fencer moves? What's with my other hand?Shouldn't I be able to yield a smalldagger for Parring orgrasp aShield to block blaster fire?)
- 2-handed weapons appear to have the same speed and HAM cost as 1-Handed weapon and do twice the damage. (That makes sense, Not!)
- Can't wear any real armor in fear of heavy HAM cost to special moves.
I still enjoy playing my Fencer and do well PvE, but the devs need ot fix these PvPissues fast or I'll be spending most of my time playing Homeworld 2 and Warcraft Online.

I use a Stun Baton, Curved Sword, a Vibro-Bladeand I always carry a MK1 Shield Generator + StimPack-B's (330+).
I hear that...getting kited by a BH is no fun, especially when they keep using knockdown fire, confusion shot, underhand shot, on you continously for the 5 seconds it takes them to whack you since their Grand Finally is usually the Dreaded Eye Shot spam. I propose that melee'ers gain ground speed during combat to somewhat prevent the aggravation of being kited like a blushing jax!
Anyways, nice ideas..they make some sense.

Well, I have One-Handed IV, and I dueled a Pistol specialist the other day, and I beat him. He made me bleed, which I had enough life to heal myself, and him at the same time. He did not run though, and that was really cool of him.
Anyway, I think that we should be able to throw our swords at someone, to make them trip...They could fall into prone position, and that would give us enough time to catch up, and get a few hits off. If not that, give us some sort of sheild to protect us against most long range attacks.
Also, if we get none of those, make it where if we hit them, they have to stand in place and fight, and give the ranged guy a few tries to break away.
Those could solve a lot, especially the shield. If it were placed somewhere in the Fencer skill tree, or we achieved it randomly through-out the skill tree, then that would be great. We would not have to worry about when or where we achieved the certification, we would just play, and it would be granted to us sometime during our quests, or make it a quest, that can be granted to us randomly. That way, only certain people can talk to the NPC.
Anyway, back on topic. If we could block the shot that does mind damage, then we would not have to worry about it, would we?
