ok, so I leveled enough for the next branch in Fencer.

I am currently using a 44-153:2.6(13/25/13) VibroBlade, doing about
500-1000+ dmg with my /melee1hhit2
150-400+ dmg with my /melee1hbodyhit1

So, should I go for Bodyhit2 in Fencing Technique?
- what's the damage increase compared to bodyhit1?

or Bleed in Footwork? What's the bleed rate like?
- do I do dmg to HAM also or is it like the lunge?

I plan on using specials like mad. I have a pet to tank so...

cast away your votes and your experiences, i need to drop my merchant skills now. I reached levels in Squad Leader, CH, and Fencer grinding today.

thanks.

The first tier is pretty weak for all the fencing xp branches. I went with footwork because it offered a special hit aswell asstat bonuses, plus footwork 2 and up are pretty impressive. Just my opinion.

foot work will give you a bleed and speed( helpful in long battles), techiniques gives you body hit two which does close to twice the damage as one. grips and styles gives you scatter hit.by the statsyou will probably kill things faster with bodyhit 2 than anyother solo, bleeds would help in a big fight or weaking an enemy before the final attack, scatter hit would help you best in group full of people trying to hit action or mind to take out an enemy. So if you solo ,techinique or footwork, if you group footwork or styles(if you group with carbineers pikemen swordsmen riflemen).Hope that helps.

I don't do much PvP so i guess I'll go with Body 2. Thanks all.

and yes I was Pistol 3 when I reached Novice Fencer. Now I reached Level 1 of both novice fencer AND novice pistoleer... it so sucked. But with my pet I can actually use my butter knife to get XP without healing myself every other attack. =D

I say get CH before anything if you solo LOL.

Well, a good weapon would be nice. I know unsliced weapons better than that with 2.0 speed and 90-200 damage, 40% wound chance. I bought it for 5k. Ditch the butterknife and get a REAL sword

Guys, stop comparing weapons across servers. Some servers have had the right materials to make *really* good stuff, some haven't. Until the servers mature to a point where every single ideal resource has popped on all servers, there's not *too* much point to comparing weapons other than saying "I'm more uber than you are."

With that said, however, yes, go for Body Hit 2. It makes long fights a helluva lot easier and more manageable. After that, take the Bleed, which helps long fights even more.

(And GB's a pretty funny anime. =D)

Thanx for the advice here. I about to reach Novice Fencer (at last) and was wondering what branch to work for first. Very valuable information for me.

Just my two cents--I would do footwork first. There are going to be a lot of times where you will be forced to fight without enough HAM to use special attacks. Getting weapon speed to the point where you can swing a damage-sliced curved sword or ryyk blade at the one-second speed limit is in my opinion the best way to help yourself. Footwork also gets you health hit, which bleeds the opponent. That is pretty useful.

I opted for Body Hit 2.

again, asking. (cause no one answered) Does BLEED attack make damage? or just bleed? Like Lunge, where it is like 1hp damage + chance to dizzy.

Yes, on Wanderhome we don't even have STUN BATONs yet. The Byrrotesys (however you spell that) gemstone is not on sight yet. And I do have a real sword, a 190dmg Ryyk blade. But I seem to do better with the Butter Knife using special and with my secondaries being high, my HAM don't drop at all. (and I pop a Sunburn if I foresee a prolonged fight)

To answer your question, GetBacker:

Yes, HealthHit1 and HealthHit2 will do regular damage. Each of these special attacks seem to do initial damage slightly less than the "Hit(X)" of the same level. However hard your attack initially landsdetermines the amount of the "bleed" that will occur. Bleeds are on a 15 second cycle, and the duration seems to vary but usually last around 10 cycles. This can be reduced if FirstAid is applied to the target.

Therefore, if you were to connect with HealthHit2 for 1100 damage, that initial 1100 damage is done right then just as if it had been a Hit2. However, whereas Hit2 can potentially hit any HAM bar, HealthHit only targets the Healthbar. Then... regardless of anything else you may or may not do... in 15 seconds the target will loose another 1100 damage (or whatever the initial strike was for) to their Health Bar. 15 seconds after that, another 1100 damage... and so on.

As a collateral effect, these attacks seem to create quite a few "Wounds" (black area) on the Health Bar.

If you browse the Fencer board a bit, you'll find a postthat explains all of our specials. Since things change of time, there may be an error here or there as time goes by. They should be accurate enough for you to get a good understanding of their effects.

Not true.. the first tick of the DoT is done AFTER the delay. There is zero damage on the first swing.

Well getting off track here. But the Vibroblade is AR1, which means against unarmored oppnensts it does and additional 25% DAMAGE. Against light armor it is normal damage and suffers 35% reduction on Medium armor, and another 25% reduction on heavy armor. Where as the Curved sword and Rykk blade are not AR of any type. THey do normal against unarmored, and - 25% on light, another - 25% on medium, and so on. So you need to weigh when is the best time to use these weapons. I have a Rykk blade, a Vibro Blade, and a Stun baton all sliced. The Stun Baton I have currently sliced is 117 - 199 damage. And I use it all of the time except when I meet a creature with resistance to it.
