So, I had just grabbed a couple of missions out of Bestine in the northeast direction and was going to go do them on my way to the squill caves. (I recently aquired the ability to pull out a fully grown graul mauler my friend gave me, and I wanted to see how we would fare in the caves.) I walked out of the city and shortly outside I see a slightly injured guy (200 ham out of 900 was hurt) sitting next to the corpse of a worrt and staring at it. I heal him up (I love randomly healing people) with one use of my handy stim pack and get an instant "Thanks" in return. Iprepare to leave, butthenI think better of it. This guy's probably a newbie and needing exp. With his smiley face thank you still hovering on the screen, I pop him an invite and say,

"Would you care to join me?"

And thus begins a small adventure.

We headed off in the direction of my two missions. About half way there, my two pets (had a rock beetle and a grand wrix out) got stuck on a server boundry and had to be stored away. In the process of finding a store in which to recall the pets from, we saw (and lost) a greater desert womp rat lair. I pulled the pets out and started a brief unsuccessful search for the womp rat lair. Deciding the efforts would be fruitless I lead us off in the direction of the mission. We shortly came upon a cu pa lair. Normally these would be small fry for me, since Im a 1312 fencer, I can pretty much one or two hit them. I decided to let the pets attack them while the newbie (his name was Kolt, guess I'd better start calling him that, hehe) backed them up with his pistol. A short time later all 5 or 6 cu pas were dead and Kolt exclaimed at the speed with which he was getting exp. Curious I found out that he really was a newbie and barely had pistols 1. He was using a D18 someone had passed on to him. I surmised that the pets were doing most of the damage and that Kolt wasn't getting near as much as a cu pa could give.

So, the Cu Pa's down and two missions to go, we moved on. A short distance later we came across another greater desert womp rat lair (yippee!) and I started pulling them one at a time with the pets. Knowing thatI would totally own these rats with the two pets out, I merely sat back and let them and Kolt do all the damage. He obviously wasnt doing much compared to the pets because he was only getting 400 pistol exp per greater womp rat. I wish I could have put Bee (the rock beetle) back in storage, but I couldnt do it without packing up Gambit (the grand wrix), and anyways it was safer having two tanks out.

Anyways, I'd only been attacking the rats when I accidently pulled 2 of them. I didnt want things to get messy. So, of course, the fun really began when things got messy. . We'd dropped somewhere between 8 or 10 of the greater womp rats, one at a time, when I got the second or third pull where 2 rats followed the pets. I pulled out my gaffi stick and took out the one that the pets were fighting. I finished him off, and harvested the meat and looked at the rest of the screen (I usually watch just the Ham bars of whatever I'm fighting). There were three more greater desert womp rats left standing attacking my pets! And they were mainly attacking the rock beetle, the weaker of the two! The battle became a mad dash in a small circle, me trying to prevent my pets (mainly the rock beetle) from running off, while still whacking the womp rats. At one point both me and Kolt were incapped and Bee had managed to escape the rats attentions. Gambit was holding off the two remaining womp rats without fearwhile we lay prone on the ground. I got up, healed everyone involved (stim D's are awesome!) and we proceeded to kick womp arse.

I didnt think that me, a newbie pistoler (who I got to pistols II, hehe!), a rock beetle, and a grand wrix would be able to thwart 4 womp rats, but we did. All in all, amonst the most fun I've had in days.

like the topic says, I think atypical situations make this game fun . We all powerlevel and carefully orchestrate our battles so that we do our best to win, but those times when things go just a bit wierd, and the situation gets hairy, and we still triumph, those are the times I live for.

Ciao!

i was at Fort Tusken, soloing for experience. i was in one of the rooms and saw a Tusken raider spawn. i sent my sludge panther in, and went in to finish him of with a couple Sai Toks. when i got in there, i took my swing, and wasn't paying attention. not only did i hit spin attack on accident, but there were 5 raiders, a Tusken Captain and a Tusken Guard. in that small room, i had the attention of all but two of the raiders. things were getting hairy.

i downed a tatooine sunburn, donned my composite chestplate, did two more blinding spins and took off running. i went outside, and left my panther, Chaeraphon to fend for himself. The Tusken Guard and a raider followed me, and i quickly dizzied and lunged the guard, then turned to the raider. i was getting low on HAM, but the sunburn meant i could style with little loss, so i dizzied and lunged the raider, then turned back to the Guard. i blinded him just in case, then laid on a couple Sai Toks. by then the raider had gotten up and landed a few hits. i gave him a few in return, ending his campaign for my demise.

when i went back in to save Chaeraphon (it should have been the other way around, i know), i still had the aggro of the captain. thankfully he hadn't warped or followed me outside. i used a quick stim, and went to work on him first. dizzy failed. lunge failed. i was taking major hits, so i had to lay on the double bleed, and use another stim which drained what was left of my mind. using equilibrium brought me up to three quarters full on all bars, and i went back to work. abandoning knockdown, i laid on Cho Suns and Sai Toks. the captain fell after severely wounding me and i still had 4 raiders, two of which had been pounding on me this whole time. i frantically used vitalize for the tiny boost it gives and since i was still in the warm floatiness of the sunburn, i dizzied and lunged them each and they both went down. two Sai Toks each, and i was in the clear. Chaeraphon just stretched.

as i was healing up after taking the other two down at my leisure, two death guards and an avenger spawned in the same room with me! i will admit i actually cursed aloud to my computer when this happened. thankfully, i was back to full health, but i had no equilibrium for another 60 minutes.

dizzy/lunge failed (i should have expected it) so i put on my two bleeds and downed another sunburn, just in case. this time i remembered to intimidate, and happened to warcry. that's when i saw the message that i had delayed ALL 3 of them for 20 seconds. zing! i bled each, then took turns Sai Tokking them into the ground. one at a time. by the time the third was swinging again, i still had most of my health. he went down after taking me down to almost nothing with about 3 hits. Chaeraphon stretched. lousy cat.

i was euphoric. i had just been a badass, so i went outside to get a breather. that's when the elite guard spawned and pointing his Gaffi downward like a 9 iron, he chip shotted me 4 kilometers to the cloning facility. Chaeraphon stretched.

Ah, the good ol days...

... the time I was grouped with 2 dumbasses and we got jumped by a Nightsister rancor (none of us had ever fought any type or rancor before, we were way too weak), but in desperation I began pistolwhipping frantically (KD had no timer), and found to my shock and amazemnt that I was able to club the mighty rancor to death with my pistol.

... Or the later time when me and a commando friend, while out krayt-hunting, decided to "quickly" destroy a bantha lair in the way. Now, we were uberleet characters with buff pets, but in my haste I didn't notice that the lair had 53k hit points. So by the time it finished there were Bantha EVERYWHERE, and there were clusters surrounding each of us and each of our pets, it's was sheer madness. We each might have been incapped a few times, I can't keep track. I think I got like 1000 units of herbivore meat from it.

... And then of course there was the faction mission where I was using GK-436 as my pet. We were down to the last enemy (a rebel commando I think), but I got killed, and GK-436 - near death - began battling the Commando and they both ran off out of range. Oh, and did I mention the stormtrooper had forgotten how to use his gun and was in kung-fu mode now? Afraid to store him after cloning (in the off chance he was incap and that would somehow kill him), I searched Dantooine high and low, finally finding him with about 150hp. I call him "Lucky" from now on.

... Then there was the Krayt dragon that spawned directly on top of me and ate me. I guess that's a shorter story than the others
