Yes! By all means, go have some fun! At the theater!!! wo0T!!!
If fun means spending 8 bucks for a ticket, and 10 bucks for a drink and popcorn with artificial butter flavored grease, thengofor it!Try to ignorethe people behind you talking out loudoverthe sound of the crackling left channel surround speaker.Thebabycrying in the back row is not going to shut up nor will his parents remove him from the theater so ignorethem as well.Try not to let thesound of half a dozen cellphones ringing drive you insane while you sit inyour cramped little chair with a tinydrinkholder unsuitable for holdingyourMountain Dewin the super sized 64ounce non-refillable beverage containment unit. Enjoy the view of thetall man's toupee' in front of you and do not try to change seats because your feet are now stuck to the floor and you might spill your $5.75 giganto-bucket of popcorn with the aforementioned artificial butter flavored grease. Here, have a complimentary bag of Twizzlers, they make mouths happy while your eyes bleed from the poor color and picture quality. In the meantime, your ears are struggling to make out any bass effects that may be coming from the non-existant "low frequency effect" channel. Theywont be able to tell thatthis isa Dolby Digital 5.1 encoded movie in a DTS surround theater thus wasting the rear center channel that you cannot hear over the crying baby anyway.
ahh yes... I love the theater.
YAY for Central London.
take TWO days off. wait there's more.
every week.
whoa! i know, i know! commit me! he's the next hitler!
on a serious note, i really do think you're working too hard. start delegating. we're here to help you help us. we may not get a fancy-pants title, but we have dreams too. holy cripes, this is turning into an after-school special. "Lyahpar, we're concerned you might have tried smoking. you don't have to do what everyone else does to be cool. being yourself is cool enough."
so much for the serious note, huh?
How was the movie?
hehe, i was hoping you guys would get a kick out of that. No I don't work in a theater and never have but I aman avid moviegoer. As of late, those have been my experiences with the local "Mega-Plex 12"
We've been on their casefor almost 2 years now to fix the crackling speaker on the left side and they just won't do it. As much as we like the large central DTS theater, the sound sucks in there. My DTS 6.1 home stereo absolutely blows it away and blows me away every time I watch a movieon my couch. The color on my TV through the composite video inputs is astonishing and puts the color on the big screen to shame. The only thing we lack is the sheer size of the screen and a gaggle of rude people to sit around us and make as much noise as possible during the flick.
:-)
I have Klipsch 6.1 and a plasma screen as well--- it **still** imo, ain't as satisfying as the big screen.
Nice.
But not the same.

My 27" TV only gets the public tv station. i'm afraid i've acheived neanderthal status and if i ever got cable (or even the basic channels), i would be so amazed by the strange eye-hurt box that i would never be able to turn away. that is, of course, unless i happened upon an episode Dawson's Creek. then i'd just tear my own eyes from my head with the point of my flint axe.
Altair,
It's a nice luxury, but trust me, imo, a good movie theater is the *only* way to fully appreciate certain films.

How about a Collaboration? We can get some coloured lava lamps and glue them to sticks to colour our shadows, and re-enact the Geonosis arena battle of Episode 2.
Hope you enjoyed the film, Raphayl ![]()
