Thread: Fencers on Intrepid...?

I'm an Artisan by trade, but am also progressing towards the Fencing profession (currently working towards 3rd level 1-H swordsman) at a fairly rapid (for me, anyway) clip. I have a few questions:

*Who are some of the Fencers out there I can learn from when I need to level up? Where are they at?

*Who in this galaxy makes good weapons for Fencers?

*Any suggestions where I could build up experience quickly? I'm mostly hunting lame game (nunas, spineflaps, chupas, nightspiders) on Naboo (Kadaara and Moenia so far).

*Should I go to Tatooine and take missions for Jabba to get the Rantok Sword? Is it a good blade, worth the effort?

*What are all the weapons a 1-handed swordsman can use? I've used daggers, vibroblades and a curved sword thus far (so far I like it best).

*Any advice in general from any fencer is welcome and appreciated!

Happy hunting,
tonyw

Well, well, hi Bigbird. . It's a pity that you chose the path of the Imperial; we could have been real friends. Anyway, I will train up to be a Master Fencer soon. Until then, you and me are neutral. Right?

Anyway, I'm almost a fencer, I could probably train you a little bit.

Oops, darn edit button...

Anyway, here to answer your questions:

*Jaff is on Tatooine, near Mos Eisley. He makes good Rykk Blades and Vibroblades.

*Join the Rebels or Imperials, and hunt NPCs. You get faction, way more EXP, and you can get some pretty good guns you can sell, like D17's. Plus, once you get Expert 1hand, you get Dizzy, which can be REALLY effective against NPCs.

*Jabba's missions for the Rantok aren't worth it, I hear. The stats for it stink, it's smarter just to spend 10-15k on a curved sword or Rykk Blade.

*Well, not including knives, etc., the weapons are sword, gadderiffi batons, vibroblades, Rykk Blades, Curved swords, Rantok swords, and Stun Batons. DON'T get a gaderriffi baton, they are horrificly slow. It's best to get curved swords and Rykk blades. Stun Batons and Rantok swords are, in general, better weapons, BUT, few weaponsmiths can even CREATE them. The ones that can are not very skilled in them.

*Some general advice is to always use Dizzy against NPCs. Always carry around anti-bleed medpacs, those are what REALLY kills the Fencers, the bleeding, not the actual shots. If you are fighting someone with a gun, run into a building and stay there, that should give you an advantage. Another thing; Do not wear armor. It's wise to wear a minor piece or two, but nothing major, like a chestplate or bicep. A helmet is advised so Pistoleers won't shoot you in the head and make you bleed to death, not to mention severely damage you. Lastly, when grouping, try to group with a creature handler with a tank, or 1-2 other brawlers, so you won't take all the hits.

That;'s just about it. Remember: You are unique. The fencer profession isn't very popular, you have to think on your feet!
