Thread: Teris Kasi vs Fencer
Ok, as others have stated Teris Kasi have a much bigger accuracy modifer than we do?
What the hell is up with that?
When I'm training for fencing I have to hit the tip of my foil in a hole no bigger than 3cms arround and lunging speed -_-
Otherwise in Martial Arts they just know how to kick! The body is a larger target for Teris Kasi, but fencing we are aiming for the critical parts, heart,head,lungs..thats why we should do my critical damage and get a higher acc modif.
itsa moot point with one hit kills on each end and no balance of defense-acuracy
will be good to debate after they fix that.
Obviously you have no experience with martial arts, and know very little about it oogami_ltto. In martial arts they just know how to kick? BZZ wrong. Ever wonder why Teras Kasi Artists get PRECISION attacking? to the head, body, and legs? Because in real life, a master has deadly accuracy. Why would a martial artist need deadly accuracy? Because the body has ''vital spots." That's why there are no weight classes in martial arts, like in boxing. A light weight martial artist can take down a guy twice his size. I won't go into the details of that, but knowing vital spots is one of the reasons. There are about 260 vital spots on the body used in martial arts and they all range in different sizes. Some are as big as your fist and some are about 3cm around. Some vital spots you have to hit dead on, and some you have to hit from an angle. If you hit a vital spot and you are 1cm off, then it does nothing. If you hit the spot RIGHT on, you can do severe internal damage or even kill someone, depending on which vital spot you hit.
So it's no wonder Teras Kasi Artists have accuracy far above the rest of the brawler elite professions.
Besides the fact that most martial artists can take a real hit in the first place because of being conditioned for point fighting so much....
I'd rather bring a sword to a fist fight anyday!
Then again.. I'd rather bring a gun to a sword/fist fight....
hmmm.. what the heck am i doing playing a fencer? oh yeah.. so I can lunge and dizzy my bounty hunter friend to death..
Kind of pointless, but I felt like contributing to this discussion...
Master fencers in reality have to be amazingly accurate. I wasn't all that great, but in fencing with people that were training as aspiring Olympians, I was consistantly beaten with very accurate maneuvers. For instance: my gloves weren't exactly form-fitting, so a small piece of leather would stick out slightly below the guard on my epee (about a 1cm triangle or less). This one guy could consistantly hit that portion of my glove whenever I would lunge or strike at him. He could also easily whip his epee down and hit the bend in my arm whenever he couldn't get another clear shot. These successful attacks were (usually)performed while both of us were in motion. Anyway, in conclusion, accuracy plays a very important role in fencing, and is in fact one of the key skills that a fencer has to master.
