Thread: 1h vs 2h
The 2h damage is making me sooo envious I must know!
Does fencer stand a chance in PVP against TKA or Swordmen??
And in overall damage output, if a Fencer and a Swordmen are attackin the same object, which one will do more damage, and if the Swordmen DOES do more damage, what adv does the fencer have skill-wise
/sigh
Fencers shouldnt exist. We are the slowest of the slow, we arent very stylish, and we get bagged on by the Chefs...
....I think Ill reroll as A Chef now.
Actually, damage is one thing and I've seen posts all day long compared who's got the better sword...erm...yeah ![]()
I would LOVE to see someone post a good thread comparing special attack style AND various offense/defense stats between the two professions - so far the only website I've found allows character building (Allakhazam)fails to a show the numbers behind every rung of Adv. Fencing that we all get toward Offense/defense bonus' - ie. Footwork line adds +bonus against KD etc, while 2hand has no such defense...
Good point.. I'd love to hear from someone who's played all skills. But I'll give my opinion...
TKA rules all right now... I'd love to be one and go solo Baz Nitches because of being able to non-stop one hit knockdown.
However, I like having a sword.. and pray that they will someday add more swords.
Polearm has some serious weapons that are rated AP 1 (I thought I heard they have a 2 also?) and a wicked leg sweep that wipes out action.
2H sword has their power axe that's rated AP 2 and has a wicked mind blow...
Fencers? I think the only thing different we have is decent defense compared to most. We also have a 100% blind skill and a bleed skill I think.
Once again.. I don't know the other skills of the other classes very well yet.. so I'll post more after reading.
I think there is pretty good PVP balance between most combat skills. I've tried a bit of everything, and I've settled on Rifleman / Fencer. If you get within 15M of your target as a Fencer, you should win hands down if they are holding a ranged weapon. In fact, if the fight lasts for than 10 seconds you are doing something wrong. As Rifleman, all it takes is about 6 seconds to kill anyone. (Both of these examples assume no misses, which obviously can happen, but you can't really plan for it. A miss in PVP = Dead Misser).
I've dueled my TKA Warrior friend, whoever gets first posture attack off first wins 90% of the time.
*shrug*
Fencer damage may be light compared to 2HS. But when the Swordsman is laying on his back it doesn't really matter how hard he can hit me. They are two different play styles, finess vs power. If you take a power class and try to finess combat you'll get owned. Vice versa.

2handed gets knockdown also man. So, they can also knock you on your back.
So its no different than fighting a TKA. If you go one on one whoever gets the first shot is going to win a vast majority of the time, regardless of the classes involved, unless there is a big skill gap. AKA Intermediate Fencer VS Master BH. With any knockdown class whoever gets the knockdown done first wins (again assuming it isn't "resisted").
I think the people who sit and moan about Fencer's can't do this and Fencer's have bad damage and blahbitty blah blah just need to get out and fight more. I've killed plenty of high skill BH's and Commandos and CH's and I've died to Novice Brawlers.
Just get out there and fight!

That's nice but like I was saying, has anyone found a resource to compare the various bonus' between our classes?
Last night I logged in and browsed both our adv. skill lines...I'm willing to wager our adv. lines give us the better +defense hence at higher levels, I think we come up on top...please tell me if I'm wrong.
Then again most +defense stats are junk at the moment...ex. Dodge ![]()
