Thread: Pistoleer+Fencer=Uber Dodge?
I'm currently a master pistoleer and was considering dabbling (Oooh god forbid) on the dodge column of fencer. I was wondering if anyone knew if the dodge modifiers in fencer and pistoleer stack while I'm wielding a pistol.
If notI'll just take the +melee/ranged defense column, because I'm pretty sure they DO stack. Otherwise what good are the melee/ranged defense bonuses good for at master musician or ranger? You can avoidenemy attacksmore adequatelywhile you play a song?

?!?!? Did you make up that number? or do you have a proof that you get 85%? I know you get alot and it works well, but I"ve not seen anyone able to say how dodge works and back it with logs.

I know that, but I'm wondering if anyone has done tests to find the % each point adds to dodge. If your a fencer, which would be better for you to get 50 extra dodge or 50 melee/ranged defense? They have found the forumula for melee/ranged D, every 2 points will generally add 1% chance for the attacker to miss. (Simple version, the actual forumula is on "weapons accuracy test" in the pistoleers forum, by noules000)

ok so your telling me a normail peron hase less then 1/4 chanses to hit a master fancer master pistoleer?
Most reports I have heard describe it as being a lot less than 1/4th. Some of that's probably exaggeration, but there's enough stories of TKMs being taken down without connecting once that there's probably some truth to the matter.

In reality dodge Only gets checked AFTER there is a sucessfull hit.... so the higher the Melee Defense the less chance dodge goes off, but the less you get hit.
I focus on Melee defense... Useing TKA Precision line and Sword and Pike Defense lines to augment Master Fencer.
For example, I can Spin2 in Tusken Fort Topside all day long and not get hit, except for the random times when a Berzerker decides to spam me with advanced Strafe 20 times in a second. Even then I dodge or evade 75% of those... (still leaves me takeing 3-10k damage in a second.) As a matter of fact I recently blew someones mind by soloing the top of the Tusken Fort non stop, with doc buffs and Breath of Heaven.
I'd say against most NPC's I get hit 1 in 20 times (from Tusken Chiefs to Dark Troopers or Force Sensitive NPC's) Against Master level PC's it's more like 1 in 10 to 1 in 15. With a 141 (153) Melee Defense 105 dodge.

Acutly this combination topic should of been kept quite, since its now released well its true in many respects. If you can combine this class approately only 10% or less of the players on any server can touch ya. More so, I talked with a few lead testers, an other people. This combination will be watched, if to many people start playing it. Dev's from what my sources say will nerf the heck out of dodge both on pistoleer an fencer. Or it may be possible thier is a hidden fix to this under the new melee combat rules that will be released soon. Dunno, although I ask the adminstrator of this board to remove an lock this post.. Please I rather honestly not have every person in the game using this combination that has no idea how to build characters on thier own.
I hate to sound so harsh but I do know the full exent of this template combination an how powerful it is. This topic shouldn't of been posted.. ^-^
Fencer+Pistoleer is most likely gonna end up the new FOTM. I cant think of any template in the game that could beat a fencer/pistoleer/rogue, with some dabbling in other classes for more defenses.
Expect to see a LOT more of them very soon. I already see 3 times the gaffi sticks on people as a few weeks ago.
