Thread: Question about Dodge
Dodge works, and stacks with Dodge from other professions, but it was recently changed so that it only works when a Pistol or One-Handed Weapon is equipped.
It used to also work when no weapon was equipped due to the way defenses worked for Unarmed/TKS. But when TKS were switched from a Dodge/Block/Counterattack blend to Defensive Acuity the ability of Dodge to work while unarmed vanished.

By the way, in some ways this is a good thing. Many people notice with the upped dodge that it slows them down when running from mobs. If you are running, through on the armor (you DO have a macro, right?) and unequip the weapon, get to a safe distance and use it. Or equip for long enough to perform whatever you need to do and then drop it and run.

It seems as if Defences vs state does stack / work whatever you are holding.

So If im weilding a heavy sword, none of my one-hand defenses will come into play..?
thank you for the clarification raph.
do you by any chance know of a forum that has confirmations on the stacking ability of the state defenses? ie. vs posture, kd, blind, dizzy, etc...
So, basically, counter-attack and acuity (if you have them) are useless when you have a 1 handed weapon equipped.

This is probably a stupid question but can you still dodge if you are kneeling? I know you have a higher accuracy when kneeling but that might not be beneficial if you can no longer dodge.
