Thread: Good Fencer Question How much +creature knowledge will I need to be a good Fencer?
Hi all =)
After reading through the FAQ provided by Raph and some of the great posts on these boards, I am still left with one question...
How much +creature knowledge will I need to be agood Fencer?
I understand that I should keep three weapons on me at all times: Stun Baton, Vibroknife, and the Gaf baton. They are each dependent on the situation. Use the Gaf if the mob is not vunerable to Stun damage and has AR0. Use the the Vibroknife if the mob is not vunerable to Stun damage and has AR1. Use the Stun Baton on anything that is vunerable to Stun damage and switch to another weapon for lairs and other non-animated structures. This is all well and good, but I would need to /examine each creature that I find to figure out the case for this.
With the introduction of Vehicles, Scout skills are less and less important to me. I am a min/maxxer and I truly enjoy getting every bit I can out of each skill point I use. I will be keeping novice-scout in order to call my vehicle/mounts/pets, but will this be enough to determine Armor Rating and Vulnerabilities? I do believe that I can see all of these vital statistics on humanoid npcs, but I'm not sure what level of +creature knowledge I will need to be effective versus monsters in the wild.
Any feedback given will be greatly appreciated =)
The only reason I ask is that Fencer seems a bit more complex than your TKA, Swordsmen, and Pikemen counterparts. They all only have two real weapons to choose from. "Is it vunerable to blast? Then give me my two-handed curved sword!" Hehe ![]()
apparantly none of you understood his questi
he wants to know how much creature knowledge he needs so that when he examines a creature he can see what its defenses are so that he can choose the appropriate weapon to fight it with
i would also like to know tis
unless they changed it... i think you can see their resits without having scout... last time i didnt have scout was a LONG time ago... my ent alt doesnt have scout tho ill run out and check tomorow if no one has confirmed by then.
Thanks for the replies everyone =)
It's a nice feeling when you come back to your first post on a board and it's responded to so quickly (and by the corresspondent =)
If the case is that you can see creature resistances with just Novice Scout or even without any Scout skills, then Fencer seems to be a very self-contained class. This will help me get those last few points of +ranged and +melee defense ![]()
Kherab, thank you very much for checking this! It's a big help to myself and the whole Fencer community. Even your correspondent doesn't go out with out a bit of Scout in his back pocket ![]()
you don't need ANY scout to see creature resistances/armor/vulnerabilities.
