Thread: Two Questions on Mitigation
Sorry to open up a new post Raph... I read through the longer one, and couldn't find an answer.
1. Just how exactly is regen ratedetermined? Does it always equal the HAM cost of the weapon? This wasn't axactly clear (heheheh or it was, and I'm a little dense at times).
2. There was some discrepency- if I am fighting a ranged opponent, does Melee Mitigation not apply?
Thanks so much - you are da bomb!

Ooop! Make that three questions..
Does the HAM regen rate depend on your secondaries?

1. Are you referring to the special experimental HAM patch that was on TC? If so, that is no longer there. It was retracted for adjustment. While it was on TC, the regen rate of specials worked basically like this:
Take the HAM cost of your move, whatever it was, and divide it by 25. The result is how much HAM is restored each second until the full amount is replaced. If you spam 2 specials in a row, the will both be regenerating independantly and simultaneously. This allows you to regenerate MUCH MUCH faster than normal. In fact, so fast that they removed it to adjust it.
2. There are two types of Mitigation, vs. Melee and vs. Ranged. As a Fencer you get Melee Mitigation which only works against melee attacks. However, it is NOT weapon dependant. Once you get Melee Mitigation you keep it. The same with Ranged Mitigation. Therefore if you were both a Master Fencer and Master (RangedProfessionX) you would have both in effect.

Again, I must assume you are referring to the experimental HAM change no longer on TC. The answr is (was) "NO." Secondaries DID still impact the rate at which you healed normal damage. But HAM-loss from performing specials always regenerates at COST/25 per second.
Thanks Raph!
I hope that they don't abandon this idea alltogther- I actually think it sounds pretty cool, even if it's in need of tweaking..

Ive experimented with this, and that isnt correct..Having no weapon equiped I was being hit for 400+ dmg from a Gurrek, with my weapon equiped it dropped to half that...
