Fencer Archive

I was trying to find some info on good places to get the xp required for novice fencer (currently I am bleed-pulling piket longhorns on Dant one at a time which is ok, but very slow at this stage). Unfortunately, the link in the FAQ just loops me straight back to the fencer forum main page..

I mainly play solo (hence the MCH) but occasionaly group up with a pistoleer/tka and errr, well a DE....

Any suggestions would be helpful....

Pikets never had any armor, and they have only 10% Kinetic resist.

i do huurton huntress missions, they spawn 2 at a time so it's easily manageable without stims, and without pets if you got a good set of armor. they give 3569 xp/ea if you aren't grouped

I don't like pikets very much, if it's the same type I'm thinking about, they have either light or medium armor. Since our only armor piercing weapon has low damage, and our highest damage weapon has no AP, try to stay away from anything that has armor. Sure you can kill it, just not very fast.

I was doing rebel faction missions for novice. A set of doc buffs and armor worked wonders. Of course, this was before they changed the NPCs. Now if you knock them down, they still hit while trying to get up. Sure wish I could do that.

Well I believe the Pikets lost their armour as part of the new balancing of creatures so they are not quite as bad as they were.

They are still slow to kill though.

The faction grind would be ok, except that I am still learning the ropes of melee attacks over ranged attacks, so currently my tactics are..well..shall we say "in development stages". So if I grab a mission solo it is so low as to give minimal xp and reward, but if I group up with the pets then I will get slaughtered by the NPCs (I can only afford Ubese armour at the moment, and doc buffs are a bit of a luxury so too many ranged weapons is sure death for me). Besides which I am not really into PvP at the moment - as I am still refining my tactica any PvP results in me visiting the clone centre a couple of seconds after the first shot is fired, and I seem to have the amazing ability to run into overt opposing faction whenever I have a TEF..

i got a set of 70% ubese. i use a speed slice gaffi. i switch to my pistol, drop healthshot2 on them, and then back to my gaffi and let the combat loop kill them (as specials in armor hurt without buffs). i get down to about 1/4 health killing 2 at a time with no buffs and no pets. drop armor and sit for a few and then tap the nest for 2 more. slow but easily done by yourself without relying on a doctor or CH.
