Thread: A New Fencer Template awaiting comments

The template is this - Master Fencer, Master Pistoleer, TKA 0-4-0-4, Marksman 0-4-0-1, Brawler 0-4-0-0, Novice Medic.
This build features amazing defenses - 176 Melee Defence, 123 Ranged Defence, 120 Defence versus Knockdown etc. And of course the infamous +210 Dodge.
IMHO this would be equally good both in PvE and in PvP.

There is, however, a question: Is there a cap on Dodge, Melee/Ranged Defence or any other defences? How large is it?
A second question: Has anyone seen the formula for calculating the change to get hit based on your melee/ranged defence?

Any comments welcome, please don't 1-star me for trying to be powerful

One quick question: How exactly do you plan on getting TKA with having only 0400 Brawler?

you would need 4-0-4-0 brawler , and also, are there even enough pool points for that?

Actually, you'd need 4400 brawler, not 4040. I've got my own template that I'm working on, hehe. I'll let you know how it turns out in a few months once I master fencer. Currently I am only 0022, but I just trained in novice yesterday.

I am sorry for the mistake with the brawler skill requirements. It is indeed 4-4-0-0. And yes, there are enough skill points, one skill point remains after this.

Being a master pistoleer, what are your experiences with the dodge mod? Is it stacking properly? Is it capped at some point?

I'm finishing up mine.


Already master brawler/TKA. working on fencer now.

Guys, please, post the melee/ranged defences of your respective templates as well as other relevant data (dodge, defence vs. x etc.). That would help a lot.

My defenses rock


Plus you get a KD with fencer with master brawler.


And a 20 sec delay.


Delay kills in PvP.


And in melee vs melee, usually if ya land warcry2 your going to win.

well yours sound pritty good but you need master brawler


i am working on one now and here it is


brawler 4-4-4-4 master


fencer 4-4-4-4 master


marksman 0-4-0-0


pistoler 0-4-0-0 i think this is the one that gives you dodge?


novice medic


scout 3-0-0-0


and the i have to chouse if i want to go up tka 4-0-0-0 or polearm i think it is 0-0-4-0 for the stat change defences


well lets here it how do you think it will work


i am leaning towards tka for the power boost and meditate but i think i am going up polearm first and seeing how good it will be

I was planning on


Master Fencer


4044 Pistoleer


4004 TKA


2200 Medic


4400 Brawler


or there abouts. Tons of melee and ranged defenses + state defenses, plus that uber dodge stack. Hate to do this pistoleer/fencer crap, but the results dont lie, its great.

I do have a need for the precision line - it grants melee and ranged defence.



IMPORTANT - I need an anwer as to whether there is a cap on the max. Dodge modifier or not.



There is another option - to replace Master Pistoleer with Master Rifleman. Doing so would grant huge ranged defence (>170 if I recall correctly), the Rifleman class is far more powerful than Pistoleers ATM. AFAIK, Fencer and Rifleman are the most powerful classes melee and ranged respectively (in PvP). However, this would feature no additional Dodge, therefore before I decide anything, I need a confirmation about the possible Dodge cap.
