Fencer Archive

I know that fencer/pistoleer isn't a popular as it used to be due to the dodge cap, but I have a question about it. If you hit CoB while holding a fencer weapon, then switch to a pistol, does the CoB still work while using the pistol? I think it used to work this way, but don't know if it still does.
