Ok I was talking to some guy on General chat about fencers soloing Krayts. I said it might be possible but would take forever. He was adament that it could be done quite easily.

He supposedly was a master fencer, I am only 0/4/1/4, but I could not see how with our single extremely weak AP1 weapon, or our more powerful AP0 weapon, we could solo a krayt.

I have no doubt we could tank one effectively, but solo it? like i said, maybe in 5 hours, but he was convinced he could do it in a matter of minutes.

Krayt = AP3 65% resists to all. around 300k HAM.


Anyways, I hope he reads this and explains to me how he soloed a Krayt in a short amount of time. lol

Hell no they arent! I solo'd a Force Crystal Hunter the other day as a Master. 30k HAM, Medium Armor 80% Resist to stun and kinetic=dumb idea.

Took about 15-20 minutes and it was boring as hell. Now lets multiply that by 10...looking at a good two hours

And as we know in that time a group of killstealers will come on by and outdamage my in a matter of seconds and I've just wasted my time.

You guys have it all wrong. Juvy krayts are extremely easy for me to take solo. MasterBrawler/ fencer using my acklay baton and it takes 5 minutes or less. Canyon krayts there is no way in hell, but juvies are very do-able.

This may be a bit off topic, but do juvies drop anything good? Like pearls or tissue or anything?

He's probably talking about Juvenile Krayt's. They are quite easy to solo. An image designer with some good buffs and armor coudl probably solo it with 1 handed IV, more less Master Fencer. My guild hunts Krayt's quite a bit, and where I am good at holding aggro, I am definatly not a major damage dealer to the bigger ones.

We focus on Juvenile's when possible because it appears they have the same chance to drop loot as any of the others.

fencer is a great PvE class till the high level mobs come in.

Fencer is a good class at avoiding and taking damge for PvE but it's raw lack of AP weapons and damage typesdon't make it a good all around PvE profession compared to some other options. When you consider 2300 stat doc buffs and 80% kinetic armor can be worn by any profession, a Chef can solo just about the same stuff we can as far as taking damage. So with PvE it becomes a game of seeing how you can have enough damage types and armor piercing to deal with the mobs you encounter. Swordsman, Pike, and Rifleman come to mind as much better PvE professions.

Damage wise, Fencer is as good as Teras IF you have Alcky enchanced weapons. Speed wise, I have 1 armor attachement speed mod +10so I canhit as fast as Teras does. J. Kryats are do able with the right weapon. I mean come on, get buffs and armor, use COB and watch that Krayt go down with your 300-400 damage gif stick. Heck I killed a DarkSide Force mob on Dant with no armor, doc buffs and using COB macro, and blind attacks. After missing me 70-80% of the time I had almost no damage done to me.

i killed 10 kraytes solo in one day but that day was 4/1/04

I can't seem to find a good stun or graffiti on Starsider server to purchase, anyone know of a good person to get one from on starsider.
