Well i was planning out some more of my skills yesterday, and i decided a few things:

1 attaining masterbrawler will be a short term solution to my accuracy and damage problems, it will also give me lung 2.

2. Keeping scout for running and foraging (cheap buffs) will work.

3.Getting level 4 in a level of marksman, in addtion to the ranged support line, will give me a small bit of ranged defens.

4.Getting a the defensive line from pistoleer will compliment my dodging.

i hear fencers complaining about how we have some good dodge bonuses later on, but they dont seem to do anything, well untill the devs decide to fix it, im going to pick up pistoleer and add thier defensive line to increase my dodge. Eventually the devs will fix dodging and hopefull my character will be a little bit better for having all that extra dodging.

True, the dodging crap doesn't seem to do much...So, I would suggest getting the Techniques tree of pistoleer and become the dreaded Trickshot!! I was pistoleer for a long time, got bored, went fencer, got frustrated, went pistoleer again, got bored, went commando, got bored and feared nerfs, and then went fencer again. Best days of my life (in game) were the pistoleer days. I just can't resist fencer though..smacking someone with a sharp object is fun, although useless in PvP So anyways...Trickshot is best if you just want one tier of pistoleer. Fan shot is quick and medium-high damage, stopping shot is slow and high damage, double tap can go either way...and of course, disarming shot doesn't do jack. If I had enough skill points, I'd take up that tier again...well worth the skill points for being able to turn to a BH and actually inflict damage upon him rather than be bombarded by eyeshots and LLC bolts.

While it won't get you dodge points, if you go up the TKA (finess?) line that takes combat exp you will get an extra +30 to ranged and +30 to melee defense. Plus you won't have to waste the extra 15 points on novice marksman.

* I have not tried this.. it just looks like it will work after reading through the descriptions as it is generic melee and ranged defense.

I do believe that the TKA combat exp line, and then one of the lines from polearms and two handed also give resists vs postures which work with overall not just when equipped with those weapons. Also i think they have melee defense and such too, so you can mix and pick to your preference, along with exploration for the terrain negotiation and some medic skill, i find that im quite the adversary in combat. If only i get make some **edit** money!

Dont wanna bust your bubble but I have pistoleer skill. And the pistol grip 4 (Dodging) doesnt not work for one hand sword user or fencers. Not once when I was moving up the one hand sword skill tree I was able to dodge. I was hoping that pistooler dodges and fencer dodges would make me even harder to hit but Pistoleer dodges only seems to work for there class. I was dodging when I was a pistoleer. But sence ive been trying to move up the one hand sword class I cant dodge at all and I have 20+ on dodging b4 I took up the class. This does suck......well anyways didnt mean to hit you up with bad news..

Well i personally decided to take Tera Kasi stuff, for the meditation skills.

And well I took master Marksman for the Commando Weapons.

So anywsie, I dont have a very High fencing skill, as I am stil a novice....but I dodge very frequently, and cause alot of damage with a sword.

So in this case I guess the combination I have taken works very well.

Well...I've spread my skill points around alot. Presently I am:

1-2-1-1 in Fencer,
4-3-4-2 in Scout,
0-0-0-3 in Entertainer,
1-1-0-0 in Creature Handler,
0-0-0-0 in Pistoleer,
1-0-0-2 in Medic,
and have also got all the ranged support line in Marksman,
and of course the one-hand melee tree in brawler and pistol tree in marksman.

I will get a couple of more boxes in Medic, so I can stop bleeding and make wound packs for all stats and I will no doubt have to drop the trapping and a box or two in survival in scout as I need the exp points in fencer.

Other than that I will try to keep most other skills I have. I actually dumped a bunch of musician skills to get the medic, so I can heal myself both in body and mind when soloing out in the wilds.

I like the Novice Pistoleer skill I have because I am able to bleed the target as it runs at me, as well as end it's life as it runs away from me. But for the most part my fighting is done with sword in hand.

The Creature Handler skills I may also have to dump and the only reason I still have them is I've become sentimental about my Kitty (Greater Sludge Panther) because he has saved my life many times. Silly I know, but I've had him since aways before the CH nerf and am not ready to give him up yet.

I'm sure that this is by no means the best way to spend ones points, but it certainly does give me some flexibility. I'm not big on the PvP action, so this is mostly for PvE and much of that solo. The CH and Pistoleer skills certainly tempt me to stand back and blast away while my kitty fights, but I have for the most part resisted the temptation and usually wade in with flashing steel and devil-may-care grin..
