Thread: Armor Piercing question
Over on the armorsmith forums, the FAQ says that a Light Armor Rated weapon should do 25% extra damage to a MOB with no armor. As far as I can tell (DX2) this is not the case. This alone seems to make the DX2 suck. This is still broken after 6 months, or is the Armorsmith FAQ just wrong?
If a weapon has medium armor piercing does it do more damage to an NPC with no armor or does it do the same amount of damage?
More. Same against a Light armored target, though not as much. And less damage against one with Heavy armor.
But I believe it to be bugged somehow. There is an official Guide on starwarsgalaxies.com called "Armor revealed" that explains it all.
Keep in mind, that the spam in the combat chat is not accurate insofar as it doesn't take into consideration resists and AR. The real numbers are the ones that float over the target's head.

It is supposed to do, I _think_ +25% damage for each level of armor piercing that the weapon has over the armor rating of the target.

Yeah, each level of armour is supposed to cut the damage done to you by half, and each level of AP above the current armour does an additional 25% of damage (ie, against someone with Light Armour, a Med AP weapon would do +25%, but against someone with no armour, it would do +50%).
The bug they speak of deals with creatures that are vulnerable to certain attack types. The vulnerability negates the bonus damage that the AP causes, which personally, I do not agree with.
