They did not tell you to not post that information. Therefore, it is of course your perogative (up to you)to post that information.
That is not true. There is a standing rule in force for all Correspondents that unless a Dev specifically tells you that you CAN post their information, that you canNOT. So since I was not given permission to post his specific confirmation, by default I was forbidden. It doesn't matter if the community wants to know the answer or not. I am bound by a NDA to NOT post anything I am not specifically told I can.
Is it right that you hold that information from us, so that, as you stated in your post, you can gain a distinct advantage by it? If you feel that you can, in good conscience, do this and not respond to your community, then by all means, do it.
Whoa! Completely mistaken there. I did not say that I intended to use this to my advantage. I was trying to get people to reflect back on the times they perhaps found a 90% rare ore deposite, and ask if they immediately posted the coords on the artisan board. I was trying to say that if they thought it was acceptable to withhold information they discovered for their own profit and had no problem with that, then why do they have a problem with me withholding information that is NOT for my personal gain if I felt it would harm the profession.
I have absolutely nothing to gain personally by withholding this information. For one, none of my templates are based on min-maxing, so the information doesn't effect my characters. Second, I spend 100% of my play time testing stuff for this community, and trying to answer questions here. I haven't played this game for my own personal pleasure or personal gain since shortly after accepting the position.
Please make sure you have your facts straight before you accuse me of something this foul.
and who ever said it is not a fencer. if you where you would under stand raphs prolbem she is at a impass, it will hurt if she gives us the info. but it will make the comunity happy if she dose. i would not want to be her that is for shure.
I know how dodge works and I dont know if it stacks or not.

Dude, don't give Raph any flak, she's the best correspondent out there by far. She does what is in the best interest of the profession and those that are trully interested in it. I'm upset that Raph got pressured into doing something she wasn't really sure that she wanted to do. If I had anything to with this, I apologize. I started a thread hoping that people would vote 'no' but it got flamed, so some good that did.
As raph said: the clever reader knew why she didn't want to publically announce the findings.
Wish there were more clever readers out there ![]()
And I come here to get away from the a$$holes on the BE and Ch boards...leave Raphayl alone! Go accuse someone else, like the Dev's, of hurting the game...then read the back posts on the Fencer board, and post an apology to her...
Raphayl, I'm sorry people are idiots who don't have a clue what or who they're talking to...I enjoy reading your posts even though I'm not the "technical" type...
Please, its only a game, if you are not happy with someone not spoon-feeding you the rules of the game, run some simple tests and work out for yourself... its really not that hard..
Hawks - Flurry
Raph, I know you've told us a lot already, but still... you said some time ago that you were not sure about the exact formula (or an acceptably close substitute) used to calculate dodge/ct/block and melee/ranged defense. Seeing how you confidently provided a final answer to the dodge question, can you enlighten us on this as well?
Thanks in advance.
