Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't you supposed to be answering questions Mr. Moderater...not asking them?

Why don't you give me an idea what threads i should read...do you know how many thousands of threads there are? Be more specific and help your readers out..don't treat this like a mystery game. Not trying to torch you... these are serious questions i am asking.

If you're going toback me into a corner, ok, I'll correct you:

1. No, it is not my job to answer all of your questions. It is my job to gather as much information from this community as I can;test and verify to filter fact from opinion, and then submit the Fencer community's issue to the developers for the purposes of improving the Fencer Community. I also hold the responsibility of relaying back any information which the developers direct me to, whether good or bad. I do happen to answer thoughtful polite questions, but not due to any office, but because I like to try andhelp people. I tried to do this long before I was placed into office, and I saw no reason to stop just because I had new duties.

2. I'm not a Moderator, I'm a Correspondent. I have next to no administrative or moderative access to this board. The best I can do is sticky any thread that would greatly help the community by it being stickied. Once stickied, I don't even have the ability to unsticky it. The only Moderators of this board are SOE Employees.

3. I'm not a Mr.

4. Yes, I am supposed to ask questions. In fact, 90% of my responsibilities revolve around asking questions of the community so that I can better collect accurate information.

5. As for an idea of what threads to read, a good start would be the huge one I posted called Compliation of All Fencer Issues to Date (and it's dated). You know... the one with all the Fencer Issues such as the relative effective weapon speeds between the various melee profession and such? Or you could just browse the forum, a full quarter of the threads mention this issue so they shouldn't be hard to find. Or... you could be really crafty and use the Search feature at the bottom of the forum.

6. Yes, I have a very good idea of how many threads thereare on this forum. Irecently invested a significant chunt of my time re-reading every single thread from the beginning to now and taking notes so I can better understand the needs of the Fencer.

7. I try to be as specific as I can when posting information. I try very hard to be as helpful as I can to anyone asking a question in a professional and polite manner. Not because it's my job, but because I respect my peers, adn want to help out where I can. Had to tried reading a few of my posts rather than immeditately jumping on a new thread and attacking me you might have noticed that.

8. There's no mystery to it. I couldn't really answer any question because, in fact, you didn't ask one (of me)other than if I was paying attention to yourrant.

9. If this question is so serious and important to you, one might think you would have invested at least a few moments to glance and see if your concerns might be addressed on the first page (which it is.)

afkSawMountain,

As stern as this may have come across, I hold no malice toward you. If you are a part of the Fencer Community I will still do everything I can to promote your needs as a Fencer. However, if your posts continue to come across in a hostile, disrespectful manner, either to me or to any other of my fellow Fencers then you willfind the responces aren't going to match your expectations. You might keep in mind that my office is not a paying one. I'm not an employee of SOE. I'm a person that pays to play this game just like you do. I am here strictly on a volunteer basis using my personal time to try and help our community. I'm not here to be a target for abuse by those that have a chip on their shoulder.

If you would care to post a concern, thought, or question in a professional and honorable fashion... as is the custom here among Fencers... I will gladly reply in kind and do everything I can to help you out. In short, a little politeness goes a long way. Sorry for the harshness of my responce, it's not how I like to post. Peace.

There's a difference between lack of reading comprehension and being an idiot. Now, figuiring out just *what* that difference is would probably be an exercise best left to the reader. ;D

Anyway, 'grats Raphayl =D

(And don't mind me folks. I'm kinda burned out on SWG atm, D2's hooked me for a lil', I've got midterms coming up, etc, etc, etc...I'll be in and out on any topic that looks interesting, posting colorful insights and whatnot, as they strike me.)

First, Eddy Haschel you spelled figuring wrong...it is not spelled figuiring. SoI quess you must not be the genius. But I guess that is best left to the reader right? Need anymore schooling? Truth is eddy, if you had any real intelligence you would have just left the thread alone, Insteadofbragging about your "Mid Terms".

I hope they aren't counting spelling.

I can't believe that you are attacking the very person that defended you. (Even if it wasn't much of a defense. :smileytongue That is simply amazing. However, if that is your "thing", thenplease go troll elsewhere and allow us Fencers (and friends) get back to business here.

As long as we arecritiquing each other's grammar:

  1. There should bea comma after "First, Eddy Haschel."

  2. Your usage of anellipsis is incorrect.

  3. There should be 2 spaces between sentences.

  4. It would be more proper to placea comma after "So" considering the manner in which it is used.

  5. "Must not be" is poor grammar. A better verb selection would have been "aren't."

  6. It is poor grammar to begin a sentence with a conjunction.

  7. There should be a comma between "reader" and "right."

  8. "Need anymore schooling?" is an incomplete sentence.

  9. Proper nouns should be capitalized.

  10. For the manner in which is was used, "had" should be replaced with "possessed."

  11. There is no need to capitalize the firstword following a comma if it is not a proper noun.

  12. The final punctuation should be contained within the quotation marks.

In the future, please leave personal attacks outside of these forums. Most of us do not visit this board to have our grammar critiqued.

Now that it is apparent that none of us are perfect (me included), let's get back todiscussing and improving the Fencer Profession in a respectful and professional manner.

Excuse me for the "brown-nosing" but Raph, honestly, are you part robot? Some of the things you do (especially their frequency) are beyond human capabilites, particularly theefficient means of dealing with aggressors. Kudos to you, madam.

afkSawMtn, to answer your question, yes, that does seem a wee bit unfair that their speed is more than comparable to ours, but you're forgetting that we get +15 on the speed mod and +20 on the accuracy mod at the master levels. So it is a little "balanced,"but for peace of mind I should also note that the crafters on your server just aren't very capable when it comes to the 1hand melee. I believe that the best unsliced weapon I've seen is a curved sword at 2.2 speed, and somewhere from 70-180 damage. However, that was quite some time ago, so please don't quote me on it. Ever since attaining the master feet (as I recommend be THE priority for all starting fencers) I've grown accustomed to my gaffi stick. It is very ugly, and displays no sense of grace whatsoever, but it hurts the baddies so I must use it.

To sum up,Raph - keep up the good work. afk - please calm down.

Congratulations Raphayl for being the new correspondant!

All melee classes need to support each other so let's keep that in mind.

Ah idiots permiate every part of sentient life, and us fencers are here to clean up their mess. With quite alot of violence (Graceful, precise violence, of course :X ).

Congratulations Raphayl, you'll see me wandering around here coming up with odd but quite good idea's for new features, and I'll be depending upon you to filter them for the odd 'feasible'/'possible' one and add it to a votey thing perhaps... Good luck convincing all those who can't read you're not a man -_-

I do have one serious concern about all of this though... I remember hearing a long time back that they were going to change the correspondents every so often. But what happens if we dont want a different one... its not like running for president or something is it where after you do your time your out, right? To be perfectly honest, I dont see how anyone could possibly do a better job than Raph. I find it incredible the amount of hours she's put into some of these posts... the research lvl, the depth, comparisons, examples... the whole nine yards.

Anyone who could possibly want a better voice to be heard should be taken out to the country and beaten to death with a mackrel
