hi! I usually just read the forums here, but thought i should reply to this because im in a similar situation. I too find the melee combat the most appealing style. I am thinking of sticking with pistoleer to add to the dodge modifiers you get with fencer, but I'm also looking at the benefits from TKA, so indeed this entire thread sums up my SWG experience and goals to some extent. I'm also slowly working through the unarmed xp, but i have dont it before with a different character. From my experience there I'd like to suggest trying to stick a bleed or two then use unarmed lunge and run away. It's not supre fun, but neither is killing eleventy gajillion gubbers or womprats or whatever. You can do it with your high kinetic ubese on and unarmed lunge with no VK cost is minimal. you just keep running and when it gets close lunge more. This worked well for me for getting bigger chunks of xp pretty consistantly, and i plan on doing it again with this new character. I will say, however that i used ranged bleeds and am not familiar with the mechanics of the fencer bleeds just yet, so the technique may have been more advantagous in my situation, becuase i had a distance advantage where the bleed could hit as i began to run, and possibly hit again before the mob engaged me for my lunge opportunity. BUT in this technique the bleed doesnt count against unarmed XP and the lunge does. So do what you will with it.

By the way - this new character is still working on novice fencer and i dont find that you have to use bleeds or any tricky means of gaining one hand xp. With buffs i can flat out cream things with my big pipe, and without i can slice em up pretty proper with the swift steel of my curved sword. So to others reading this thing curious about the class i must say TRY IT! You may just fall in love.

Ahh! I sometimes put my sword away when I'm in cities or someone's house or when I'm shopping. It does seem like the polite thing to do in friendly towns. In a city with known enemies around, I'll unequip and take off my title.

Well, for me.... I've got my 2 mastered classes of course. I've got Explore 4 so I can zip uphills faster than an angry dewback. Hunting 4 so I can harvest large quantities of resources from the things I killandPharm 4 for the good healing necessary to survive. The rest I am putting into TKA. I will probably surrender the upper 2 scout skills to go further up the TKA trees when the time comes, or I might not. Who knows... I'll figure that out when I get there.

Yes you're right, my figure shold have been 0.00003%. I rounded up in favor of the developers. Actually I think its safe to say that by january it will be the 10% range that attain FSCS. But if the holocron thing is truly the path and it means me dropping fencer, I'll stay where I am. Anyone know what server the lucky player is on?
