The 'in mind' part is not referring to the Mind bar- it's just a figure of speech or whatver ![]()
And Mitigation works all the time ![]()
These 2 stats lower the accuracy mod of the creature/npc/player attacking you. There is a cap of 125 on both.
1Hand Melee Def only works when you are holding a 1Hand weapon such as a Stun Baton or Gaffi Stick.
2Hand Melee Def only works when you are holding a 2Hand weapon such as a Power Hammer.

Had a jedi whack me with his double bladed saber, hit for 450 points, put on +16 melee defense bando, and had him hit me again, 450 points again.
What does a saber count as, if it is a one handed saber does plain melee defense provide any mitigation, if I stacked a +25 one handed would that give me 25 + 16 extra defense vs that type of saber?

yeah the specific proffesion defense works as melee defense, and the defense is not agains a cetain weapon,
if u wealding a one handed weapon u get the defense from the one handed defense tape you are using, but if you are using a two handed weapon then the onme handed defense tape wont work i think, so it has nothing to do with the weapon your opponent is using it gives youdefense depending on what weaopn you are weilding
so the defense is based on the weapon I am holding?
I use a rifle. I have the +16 melee defense bando, what kind of defense tapes should I be looking for when fighting jedi?
I assumed rifle defense tapes were used when fighting AGAINST rifleman, are they supposed to be use if you ARE a rifleman?
Does the +16 melee/ranged defense bando do anything for me.
From the looks of it I had everything backwards.
So I should be looking for a +9 ranged defense tape and +25 rifle defense tape?

If you are fighting Jedi, and are a BH/Rifleman I would look for these skilltapes to augment your abilities:
Melee Defense (sabers are melee, including saber throw)
Range Defense (force attacks are ranged and some jedi like to pull a CL54 ALR or FWG5 if their saber sucks)
Rifle Defense (only works when you have rifle equipped)
General Ranged Accuracy (stacks on top of any weapon accuracy)
General Ranged Speed (stacks on top of any weapon speed)
Rifle Accuracy (only works when you have rifle equipped)
Rifle Speed (only works when you have rifle equipped)
Also, all hard caps have been taken out of the game with the CU. Now its all based on diminishing return for the most part. Basically the higher the mod you have, the less bonus you actually get from it. However mods like Accuracy and Defense dont really have this. Jedi and Sword/Pike temps can boost their defenses to 700+ with Aura/Armor/CoB macros and foods. The higher the defense, the more accuracy required to deal damage. Speed bonuses become useless after they reach around 0.95 modified or so with any weapon.
