I have no trouble with my specials while wearing armor. It's true that if you rely on doc buffs, you can be stuck when you find yourself without them. But, I usually use food/drink, and occationally doc buffs.

Food is great for armor wearers, and you don't need to rely on others to buff you, just always have a couple of factory crates in your backpack. There's no reason not to use armor if you have good food on you. If you happen to get a good doc buff even better

try gruuvan, scrimpi, and vasarian brandy...................nice combo......lasts 35minutes

hey guys im sort o fnew to the game, and i dont know how to set up these marcos you guys keep talking about, so could you plz help me on setting one up for alll my fencer moves, thx

I'm not a fencer (yet) but a lot of times I don't wear armor unless it is cheap 50-60% Ubese (I have someone who gives me a full set of this for 15k) because having to constantly buy more armor is an expensive proposition... When I'm soloing, I have an armor macro so that I can use specials whenever I want, if I start losing I hit it and automatically equip my full set of armor.

That being said, I don't have any high defenses like the Fencer has (yet). I saw an unbuffed, unarmored fencer take down a buffed, partially armored Teras Kasi, all because of CoB, which right then made me want to play a fencer. I always enjoyed playing the quick melees that dodge and move and strike softly but quickly... A lot of people say the fencer is weak but I really think it is the player behind the fencer that decides if he is weak or not

You might not want to wear armor in publish 7, thier seams to be a stealth update that grants bonuses to you for not wearing any. If you don't think so, give it a try you will notice, you avoid more, you take less damage then you would normaly in armor. Anyhow, read the post Something Stealthed in.

No buffs: No armor for the reason that you won't kill yourself from encumbrance, I never wear armor when I am figthing as a master fencer. CoB and a brandy are all I need. If any fencers are running around with out armor, it is for the encumbrance reasons stated above. Now if I was buffed, again no armor because I am cheap and don't want to pay for a new set every few weeks. Only time I wear armor is in PvP or high end content with a group.
