Like so many others, I like what the docs say, but I don't agree with the melee prereqs. A Melee Support Line would go well with us. If added, they could put in Center of Being, Intimidate, Warcry, and possibly Melee Mitigation 1...something that the majority of the Melee folks use now.

My temp won't be affected by the upcoming changes, cause I can adapt pretty well, but I have a feeling a lot of folks are gonna head to other games without really giving the new changes a chance. IMO, it's sad that people would rather keep playing broken combat than seeing some possible changes that could help everyone down the road.

My 2 cents...

Why do so many feel the combat is broken? We all choose our template to suit our type of game play, i only hunt, therefore i dont have any crafting trees, if i want to solo krayts asap i take up pistols to hit bleed shots (or whichever proff it is)

its not how the weapons will work in the CU its how the proffessions will function, like mine said it will be Radically differant thant what it is now.

I'd say prof changes will be as radical as the HAM changes.

I'm putting this up in the Corr forum soon as a solution.

Novice Brawler - Unarmed - Swords - Polearm - Melee Support

Unarmed leads to TK
Swords leads to Fencer and Swordsman
Polearm leads to Pikeman
Melee Support required for any melee elite.

that still leads to an unbalance in the prof requirements, you would be able to master fencer/swords WAY to easily from what it looks like they want it to be.

a FIFTH line really seems to be the only solution

I do not see an issue with being able to master both Swordsman and Fencer off two lines. But then again I can't go into why I feel that way here. Suffice it to say the combination of the two would create enough of a tactical disadvantage against some template possibilities that the potential just doesn't read as bad to me.

i'd like to see a Melee Support line, similar to what marksman has with Ranged Support

1 handed and 2 handed could be merged so the 4 trees would be, Unarmed, 1Haneded/2 Handed, Polearms and Melee Support

Each Novice could then be a combination of the respective tree and Melee Support

I would then be a master fencer 3-0-0-4 cm and novice doctor. I think that will still work nicely.

Creating a 5th line for us will still cause folks out there to complain that meleers are getting "too much love", and cry anyways. I see where having a single Swords branch would be beneficial. Once the player passes Box 4, they'll have an option of what route they want to go: Fencer or Swordsman. At least that's the way I see it.

will I be able to keep my template of master swords/master brawler/master fencer after the CU?

yeah, tripple ELITE mastery should not be able to be done after the revamp. However the things you like about your template right now may not be there when the time comes.

the easy way to prevent people from aking both swordsman and fencer, is to make another tree unlock for each one.

ie. fencer needs swords AND one other tree
ie. to handed needs swords and one other tree. to obtain noice fencer and swords you would need the swords tree and two other trees
