Maknar,

Instead of increasing the exp to become master fencer, how would people like the idea of an Elite class beyond Fencer? As a drawback, this would mean that you wouldn't have the points to pick up a ranged profession too.

Unfortunalty I think that the order of Elite Proffesions are gonna go by popularity. We will see Elite Elite Pistoleers and Carboneers before we see any brawler types

Heh, true enough. Fencers are really, realy rare. (We've got the second lowest post count on the professions board, just behind chefs and just in front of those poor Pikemen.) That doesn't mean we can't brainstorm, though, right? Hell, maybe the devs will implement us first if they see us prepared. =D

Wishful thinking aside, here are a couple sample professions.

Dueliest - This would be more of a 'true' Fencer, focusing on the use of a rapier/saber/epee like weapon.

Swashbuckler - Possibly gains the use of a secondary weapon and uses stances and attacks that are designed to confuse and mislead the opponent and catch them off guard.

[Insert knife fighting profession here]

And so on and so forth...

I like the idea of making us pay more for more skill points towards range Def and melee Def. It would also be really nice if Ranged guys had to have LINE OF SIGHT to hit something. You would think they would have fixed this long ago, but no. We can not attack critters threw objects so why should they. And why does TK get Toughness Skill but we do not. If anything make all the brawling elite class the same power, geez.

If we take people as we find them, we may make them worse, But if we treat them as though they are what they should be, we help them to become what they are capable of becoming.

we have toughness, just not that much. And the answer is not make all brawlers the same, the answer is to balance them, and make them compleatly different

I'm all for the super elite classes...can't wait to see what is in store, but it might also make everyone more "cookie cutter"-ish. They should trade off the skills points with more XP a bit. So that skills cost fewer skill points but way more XP. I don't know...it's late and I'm in babbling mood.

On a side note, I have a problem with 'follow'. Anyone else? I usually hit follow to make sure that where my target runs to, I'm on its heels and hitting as much as possible, usually a lunge if they are running. Now, my problem is targetting a famba or other large creature and foolishly playing tank (I'm suicidal, its true). Half the time, follow doesn't let me get in close enough to hit. Anyone else think that the follow command needs a little fine tuning?
